interesting news. but 1. we won't see the game till the film comes out so who knows when that will be unless miller signs off on it anyways. 2. there is a huge ass hurricane hitting australia right now which...aside from being bad for the people of australia, it's is also bad for both the movie and the game. well let's hope for the best.

I am eager to play the game, but there are so many ways they could mess this up. I love driving games, but I like a pure driving/racing game. Most of those mission-based games out there like Wheelman and GTA-whatever really interfere with your driving fun by forcing you to do other stuff. I hope this won't be like that.

What I would like is something with Dirt 2's level of realistic damage, but with more forgiving game-play dynamics.

I must confess: I can't wait for this game too! I'm really excited by the possibility to "explore" the Mad Max universe into a next-gen game :D In fact , I'm this excited, that I bought a PS3 in 2009 for this game particularly  Since then, I discovered others game franchises like Uncharted, GoW, Heavy Rain, etc... but my anticipation for the next Cory Barlog game is huge. I hope it will not be a strict transposition of the movie, but an experience in itself, which follows the same plot from the film of course, but with others options (exploration of doomed Sydney ;) , trade with communities, quests for gazoline and ammo...) that enhanced the movie universe.

Maybe the Fury Road game will be on NGP (ex-PSP2) too? If that is the case the game on the portable have to be an entity in itself, like the Force Unleashed on PSP which is not exactly the exact same game on PS3, I think... but we have to wait and see for this.

You bought a PS3 just to play a game that is still probably years away from its release date? Have they even stated that it will definitely be released for the PS3?

Well, what can I say?... I'm a mad fan  My interest has grown from march of 2008 (first time I've heard of the game) to march of 2009 (I've read a very interesting interview of Miller about the game and his first meeting with Barlog). I'm a huge fan of Mad Max, as anyone here, so I've been so excited by the very idea of a next-gen game in this universe. At the time, the movie was planned for a release in 2011, so... yes I bought my PS3 for Pixel Max ;)

No information yet on the platform for the game, but I thought at the time (and still think) the Fury Road game will be release at least on PS3 (Cory Barlog worked for Sony before), if not on all platforms (Just cause 2 from Avalanche was a multiplatforms game). So, thanks to Mad Max, I enjoy a lot of very good games right now.

Judging from the new job openings posted on Dr. D, it looks like part of the Mad Max game will be made at KMM's new game studio in Sydney.
Sydney based production studio, Kennedy Miller Mitchell (KMM) are looking for a Technical Director to work on exciting new games projects linked to our current film productions. KMM Games is seeking a Technical Director to work on the creation of an engine and toolsets to drive a series of future products. The role would initially involve evaluating the products needs and evaluating potential off the shelf technologies and in house capabilities, as well as building a programming team to implement them. In the medium to longer term the role would expand to managing the programming team to support the design and art teams with the current engine/toolset and continue to evaluate technology for future growth of the studio.
In addition to a TD, they're also looking for an Art Director.

It seems kinda late to start working on a Happy Feet 2 game, so I assume this is mainly for Mad Max, the only other film(s) they currently have in production (that we know of, anyway).

A game comes out ten years before the release of the movie? I'm wondering how tech can make that possible. Guys, I want to see that film, PLZ, Dr. Miller shoot that film. :D
I could probably make it on my own, but I like you kids.

Sounds like he did. Not seeing the game all the way through could mean the game's development is troubled. Not good.

OTOH, there was that news late last year regarding Miller's desire to get Aussie tax breaks to complete the Mad Max game in Sydney, his pending announcement concerning a new enterprise that will sort of replace the work being done at Dr D, and the new partnership between KMM and Team Bondi chief Brendan McNamara.

Still, Barlog's departure is a bit disconcerting.
