Styx performed with Replacement Singer.
It doesn't look like Dennis DeYoung will be back with them any time soon.
As for the quality of the performance.. The new guys did quite well. James Young and Tommy Shaw were the only original members present.
The singer performed Dennis' vocal parts excellently, preserving the tone and keeping a similar sound, while putting in his own personal touches.
I'd still rather see the original crew up there on stage, but I think they did a bang up job with what they had.
(Certainly a better fit than certain OTHER bands I could name replacing Vocalists)

Question to Gordon hayes.
You spoke of taking the Interceptor out for a blast. I thought that was sent to Japan for the museum? Or did you have two?! Hmm I wonder if you're talking about the yellow interceptor and not the BoB. Anyways perhaps you can shed some light on my confusion thanks.
Of the two versions of the Interceptor I loved the one in MM2 the most just soooo beatup and gorgeous. I have a thing for rat bikes, so naturally a rat car appealed to me more so than a slick and shiney one. So seeing your MM2 Interceptor and all those great pix was just great! Thanks for all the work and effort you put into it, the result was gorgeous! Post more pix or do you have a website I can visit to view more images?
OK, somewhat belatedly: My Saturday
It went along quite pleasently in fact. Got up around 7am and checked my emails over breakfast etc replied to a couple of people enquiring after commissioned pin-up drawings from me. Took Oscar, the dog out for a drag and after just mooched the morning away.
Spent the afternoon at my workbench in the basement making the brackets to house the extensions for the dining table I'd made a year ago but never actually got around to fitting. I made the pine table 6 years ago but now it doesn't seat enough people (we run a B&B business in Nornandy France) so I built two leaves that drop onto slot in brackets. Looked and worked better than I had hoped. Sometimes you make a slight change and the whole thing looks out of balence, but the extensions really suited the chunky base. Aesthetically pleasing to the eye if you know what I mean.
Flopped on the sofa for about an hour reading a Robert Heinlein book, around 6ish I showered, ate dinner, then got ready for some friends who were taking us into Conde, the nearest town, for the funfair, candyfloss and bumper cars etc. Kind of a big event in this sleepy little town since by 7pm the place can be like a ghost town. Had a drink or three at a bar and listened to a live band (get this they called them "orchestras" here!! kind of a grand title for 2 guitars and a depressing female lead singer) Watched some cart racing which surprised me just how fast and how much work had gone into building these funny pedal cars. Then spent 15 Euros in tokens to get a 5 Euro figurine that I eventually won pumping the tokens into one of those shove penny machines, you know the type that buids up and eventually creates an avalanche. Once I got the needed points to claim the prize it was only then that I started winning even more tokens hand over fist, I couldn't lose em fast enough! I ended up giving 3 kids about 30 tokens to spend for me (with the approval of thier parents) The kids thought they were being given a kings ransom. I remember being given something like that as a kid and I vowed when I grew up I'd do the same cos it made me feel so special! Yeah I'm a big softie.
Later I watched my GF and the wife of our friends ride on the whirlitzer, we sat safely on the side watching them. I hate those rides. Got home about 1ish and the dog went balistic greeting us (as usual) I think he thinks we're abandoning him everytime we got out the front door. Since he was a stray that walzed into our garden a year ago I guess he has just cause to worry. France has a high rate of stray animals that just get taken out for a long, and one way drive, by their uncaring owners. Sad really, a dog is for life not just for christmas, while a turkey is for christmas not just for life LOL!
Good thread BTW.

Bart, have you seen the movie "Supersize Me"? Near the end, the guy was almost embalmed from his 30 days of McDonald's. Still doesn't stop me from eating the stuff, though.
