MAX AND HIS YELLOW INTERCEPTOR
MAX AND HIS YELLOW INTERCEPTOR
Ironically enough, my work as an MP leads me into similar vehicular bribery. We have an ageing fleet of Chevy Impalas in various states of repair. We can track the cars by their government license plates. Lower numbers mean older, rattier cars. Nobody likes the 200 series cars with the faded, old style light bars, dents, whistling exhaust and metal-to-metal brakes. The 700 series cars are more popular, and the 800's are fought over. The more 'effective' MP's generally get the better cars.
Although we're not permanently assigned specific cars, I usually get 892 whenever I'm on patrol due to my charming personality and reputation... LOL!
Still working on getting permission to repaint my car black. White with green and yellow graphics just doesn't cut it for me.
BTW, every shift change we have to test the lights, siren, etc. When I test the P.A., it's always, "Hey fella! You're a turkey, you know that?" A lot of the guys got it the first time out. My partner said I watch that movie too damn much. I have a slight limp from torn cartilage in my left knee and now I have a patch of gray hair coming in on my right temple. Just coincidence, right?
15 new Impalas arrived last week and I'm hoping to get one. We've been told to wear out the old 200 series first so we can justify breaking out the new cars. They're pretty ate up, so I think I might be rolling in a new patrol car next week. If I can get transferred to Traffic, I get a black or dark blue Impala with tinted black windows. No blower, though...
Anyway, I can totally see how certain 'better' cars are assigned to officers who deserve them. And I also can see how the fleet vehicles are cannibalized and held together with rubber bands due to budgetary constraints. Wish we had a few Mustangs to use as pursuits down here.

MAX AND HIS YELLOW INTERCEPTOR
It's quite obvious from the amount of hair, that sandpaper has never been anywhere near there....

Perhaps as one runs naked through afield, a certain amount of chafing occurs.
Nah, I'm sure I was right with the first estimate. PAINFULLY obvious...

Damn it Last V8 I was going to point out the same thing but you beat me to it.
Why give Max a Persuit Special when he can clearly catch a Persuit Special in his Yellow Interceptor? Also Max has the only yellow Interceptor we see, not a standard issue Persuit so perhaps that is his special car?
Either way it seems Max's role in the MFP is as a last stand, the Persuit Special Nightrider steals seems more like a simple unmarked Persuit (different make of car I know), it fails to outrun the yellow MFP persuit cars, so wouldn't suit his role regardless.
Of course we must beg the question of the 'black Interceptors' role, we call it 'The Interceptor' yet in the first movie it isn't refered to as an Interceptor I think, however in Mad Max Two I beleive the disabled mechanic calls it "The last of the V8 Interceptors"??? I aren't sure but that would imply some notority if he did, and imply more than one existed.
