No worries, I'm checking it every few days. Would love to know some more of the nicknames for the various claw trucks, polecat cars, etc. I imagine most of them had at least an informal name if not an actual designation (such as Silver Surfer or Ploughboy).
I wrote up a bad guy / vehicle "body count" list for the film, which I posted on Reddit a few months back, but I'd love to go and update it with the actual vehicle names when they've all been identified.
Help identifying more vehicles?
Re: Help identifying more vehicles?
Also Artemis, you've probably seen this already, but here's some identifications of the Gastown vehicles that could help:

tehCal:
Two of the vehicles in that image are incorrectly identified.
1955 Pontiac Star Chief = Pontiac Safari Wagon "Surfari"
1979 Datsun 280zx = Datsun 240z
The rest seems to be ok, but I'm not sure about the Benz shell on the AM General M814 chassis.

How could you tell the difference? And I mean that legitimately I am new to cars (since Fury Road) >.<Taipan wrote:Two of the vehicles in that image are incorrectly identified.

I'm pretty sure it was a 280zx, cause of the T-top roof. Although I guess that could of been a modification.Taipan wrote:1979 Datsun 280zx = Datsun 240z
Re: Help identifying more vehicles?
To be honest, I couldn't! It's damn near impossible to determine if it's a Star Chief or plain Safari from the pictures and due to modification (I think Safari was a luxurious version of the Star Chief and it had different wheelbase, shorter I think).KamicrazyWarGal wrote:How could you tell the difference?
My info is based on intel from the mechanics that worked on the movie. Same with the Datsun, they said it was a 240z so I'll trust them on that.

Re: Help identifying more vehicles?
On the Facebook group "Mad Max Fury Road Cars", somebody posted a photo of a Citadel vehicle I hadn't noticed previously -- a black semi truck cab, which is briefly seen behind the Caddy and the Monaro in their introductory tracking shot. There's a War Boy perched on the bonnet and everything. It was described as either a Mack or a Ford, I can't remember which, but it definitely is not the "Mack" tow truck.
Apparently the truck was brought back to Sydney and is being sold by its owner for ~$10K AUD.

Re: Help identifying more vehicles?
Also quick question, I keep seeing mentions of the Dodge being crushed in the canyon -- I don't recall seeing this, despite having watched the movie like ten times. At what point does this happen? Or was it from a deleted shot?
