It seems to me, that Miller is brilliant at world building.
All these characters and artifacts could be a movie by themselves.

He may have arguably stumbled when it comes to the big picture.
But even if he tried and failed, Mad Max has always been a guesstimate future.

True, but I think a lot of people forget that this world wasn't built in a day, rather slowly cooking on the backburner for a long time. I honestly doubt we would get this amount of detail had the movie happened in 2003. Looking through original concepts from 97 one might safely assume the movie was brewing since 96 and those concepts show level of complexity akin to MMBT, they're more focused on the weirdness of that world rather than building it with super intricate detail. It seems like Miller's ideas age like fine wine when given time, which isn't a bad thing at all. Except for.. you know, us fans who would love to get the next installment of the Mad Max franchise ASAP.

I agree. I also think they pulled in a lot of McCarthy's stuff and built on that.

The details of the fury road world are so intricate and established that he would only need to dwell in it.

After watching the deleted scenes 1+ times I can understand why they weren't in the final version. The telescope scene wasn't needed and the lift scene was far to grim for the beginning of the movie. Its better that the audience was left to think for themselves how babies, workers, milkers etc were raised up.

The "grain of sand" scene has a very different tone and atmosphere to what was in the film. It is very Road Warrior like with Humungous's carmada parked & driving off undisciplined in all directions and then the dust blowing up everywhere after. Same with the Warboys dropping to their feet in praise of the Immortan. With some editing it would have been great to see in the film, especially with the Imperator's barking orders.

+1

They were interesting to see but were completely unnecessary in the long run. I'm a little surprised that after 900 hours or whatever was filmed
that we only get these 3 little scenes. Personally, I would have enjoyed more Interceptor footage :D

I think there will be more on the blu.

I really truly feel the movie would have benefitted from the 2nd and 3rd scene reinserted.

There could be loads more. Hoping there is.

Personally I would have prefered to see all three scenes included as per Miller's original vision and the whole movie cut to be slower and more atmospheric. But I can appreciate why they were cut to suit the modern movie theatre audience.

I would've liked to see some of the smaller scenes we already
saw glimpses in the Comic Con trailer in the final film.
