Hate that. I loved your work because frankly you were one of the few doing the work on these lovely machines. much respect my friend you came way before me on making cars.

told you this mod's not dead yet. and it never will be.

Mundi Mundi Outpost trailer anyone?

this is just a preliminary work. the side and front gates are not the right height yet. but I am working on it. I have great visual markers thanks to the Mad Max 2 blu-ray.
the only other issue as I see it is what you don't see. yes I know of the great mundi mundi outpost diorama being made over at Madmaxmodels.com and that's great but I've never seen those oil barrels. so I am not likely to add them. I can identify some of the trash in the trailer. it's almost all furnature. some parts are not identifiable as of yet. and some isn't really visable. so that complicates things greatly in terms of authenticity. also it appears that the legs of the trailer ended in wheels not feet. maybe this was done with old trucking trailers but how would wheels have kepts the trailer stationary. I mean that's half the reason for those stand legs is it not. the other half being so that the trailer doesn't tip forward ,thus making it hard to hitch.

so I am kinda making an artisit choice for the legs and keeping them as standard. the trailer is a commander...most likely a warehouse semi-trailer based of simular trailers I've seen that are modern. then again this could have been a cattle car too but it's hard to find any solid information about the trailers and those who know are unreachable anyways.

this is planned as a set peice. beyond that there isn't much I could honestly say about it. I am not looking forward to doing the tarp that was strung over the trailer but I think I have a good way to work that cloth. we shall see. I may make it also a pullable object. we'll see what I can come up with. could be fun for some of those physics games going around eh?

More work soon lads. don't you worry. I still have major plans for these meshes and beyond.

work continues on the trailer:

this work is based heavily on screenshots from the movie. both the introduction to the mack and when the mack is refueled and pulls away from the trailer.

that said I don't know most of the junk it seems to mostly be furnature and more mood then anything else. so I'll try my best to match it. but no promises. the cloth with the slogan will be the next major hurtle but I'll save it till I get the basic trailer done.

Further work being done as we speak on the model of the trailer. 5 things to finish her up
1.wheels
2. under trailer box storage case
3.under trailer wheel mount
4, the cloth drapped across the trailer (screenshots show it's not draped over the trailer at any point.)
5. junk. (there were a couple of appliances I could see. the rest is wood furnature,a sofa chair and what looks like a dress dummy but I cannot tell)

The junk won't be exact without behinde the scenes information or photos but I'll do the best I can for the fans.

shots of the trailer as she now stands.

the body and rail shaping come from the screen shots. there was a lot of detail if you knew where to look for it. that said the rungs along the bottom and the blocks along the body are exact to the commander trailer. don't know if she was custom built or not. seems like a warehouse semi-trailer but it could have just as easily been a flatbed with the gates welded onto it. then again the front of the trailer does support that the front gate was part of the natural trailer. but again without production information I have no real idea. I am just working hard to get even the basic trailer done. the junk will be a whole nother story.

anyways work will continue. this mod and some locations will be worked on. I am going back to the compound soon enough to redo what was done of the tire wall with higher poly tire models. the rest I think is fine and not "low poly trash"

Finished models will be in a new format to show off my artistic flaire.

I also noticed that I made the bars around the landau's back wheels straight out. this is not correct and will be correct to the right shape or redone all together.

The base Trailer is Done!

As you can see I made the wheels,I guessed with the hubcaps going for a very generic wheel hub look as I cannot see the actual hubcaps with enough definition to be able to tell
what they looked like. I make the spare tire mount and basically I had to do some guess work based off some research but in short I was taking an educated guess on how it all fit together. but the outside holder is movie perfect. lastly I had to finish the base trailer off by making an under the trailer storage box. the problem is two fold. 1. there are about a billion different styles of storage cases for semi-tractor trailers, 2. all the screencaps I was able to get were of almost no help. I could see a little jutting lip at the top. I could see two seperation lines but beyond that I couldn't tell you how the thing opened or if it had a handle as there isn't enough to honestly tell. so I did my best. thus the base trailer is done.
the last movie touches is where I am going to next.

-Still Left to do-

--Draped cloth. as stated previously I noticed the cloth doesn't actually go over the top of the trailer. it acually draped across the side and tied on. this wasn't what I thought originally. but I bought the blu-ray and took screenshots and that's how I know. in fact I think it may have been a blanket in cannon. and mauraders (or whomever) used it to send a message.

-- Junk, believe it or not, the draped cloth is not what I fear most. the fact that I cannot, even with high def, Identify all the peices inside the trailer means I have to guess.
I think I know some of what's in there but the rest is just not able to be seen where you can tell where everything is. so I am going to do my best here folks but I cannot
promise it will be exact.

-optional-

-- replace the feet on the trailer with small wheels. in the screencaps the trailer doesn't have feet it has roller wheels. this perplexes me and I also think it looks stupid. that said however I may make a version with wheels instead of feet for the purists.

As this model is close to finishing up I am setting my sights on Max's Thunderdome truck, the pink De Soto and probably try to finish up the mack train since I have great refs thanks to you out there in the forums. thank you all for your help and support.

On the fury road side of things I am looking at my options. I really want to get Gigahorse up and running as much as possible. I also found great refs for the ripsaw and so I also want to do preliminary work on the ripsaw Valint Charger. I also found a good ref for an accurate Valiant VH so I can also start some work on the dartcar sooner then later. I want to make the front end break off so that it can be near movie accurate as possible.

I also want to rework parts of the landau. mainly the rear wheel gaurds. I made them jut out when they actually jut downward mimicking a real wheel guard. also plan to redo the armored macks plating and the tanker trailer so that they are more accurate as well.

that's about it. I plan to share my mods and advertise them for as many games and modders as possible because I'd love to have the Landau in a game where it can be realistically crunched. frankly all the cars that get crunched or damaged should have a place in these physic games." the next car game" acctually looks like it could do the job of damaging up these cars nicely. and this trailer, along with my mack, would be a welcome site in a game like fallout. there is also these games like "spin tires" that really deserve to have some made max touches to them.

I also have some refs from a much hated game called "Roadkill" I liked the game but never beat it because of a timed beer run level. anyways the point is that I plan a lot more apocolyptic mods on the books. I hope to maybe make a game out of everything I am making. but for now I'll be happy with what I can get. GTA is where this all started and it is where it will always have a home.

trailers on hiatus. for now. went back to work on other meshes for a little while.

progress on the Thunderdome Macktrain. mostly I just added the mack dog hood ornament. it hasn't changed over the years but eventually they gave the dog a mount to stand on. as you'll see in the different macks.

Image

obvious there is much to do on this mack and it's likely what I'll focus on for a while.

Speaking off macks I went back and studied the macks armored rammer and oooooh boy did I discover a lot looking at the movie in high def (blu-ray for the win bitches)
so I mostly hooked up and fixed the issues with the rammer. and I made a new armor for the side of the mack based off the movie. she looks a lot better I think you'll agree.

I plan to redo the armored trailer. infact with HD screens I am going to build it from the ground up. the only issue I have is the back end car attached to the trailer is still something I am haveing a hard time making look right. but I'll keep doing my best. I also have great shots of the comer school bus from the movie. I think I might be able to honestly cobble it together now that I have a better shots and angles for it. the compound will get more higher poly tires and I will try to finish it off as well. I plan to try to consturct a bit of mundi mundi outlook for the showing of the mad max 2 trailer.

will update more when I have it. viva la Fury road, cannot wait to see the valiant charger ripsaw in action and it's final look.
