Holy crap is that a great shot of the Red Monaro's side art. I never thought I'd get to see a clear shot of it. Thanks, Emil! I don't think you'd mind if I swiped that image for my site, would you? I've got to make up a new decal that shows this new detail.

Also, is it me, or does it look like the hood (bonnet) is a different shade of red than the red of the car?

Regards,

Emil, thank you so much for posting such an awesome pic of the red 'Munro' I'm making a 1/24 scale model of it from a 1972 Pontiac GTO model and that upclose shot of the skull on the door will help me out tremendiously.

I dont mind at all HUMVEE Driver....send me the link once you have put it on your website i`ll check it out...
Big Bopper Bart....also when you have done or as you build the model send me some pics of it, i am starting to get into these models that you are all making...I think i am going to have to see if I can comission one of you to build me a model of one of the cars from the movie...I would gladly pay for your time and would definately do something original like sign a photo or something I can make like a key ring or similar to show my graditude.
By the way i know you you modelers are making resin and different moulds, but have any of you ever thought of making any of the patrs of your models in a fine metal like silver or similar, i know that they are models and you would try to make them out of materials that dont cost too much but i reckon a part like the blower that draknoir2 has made would be even more special if it was made in sterling silver it would be one of a kind and I could cast them in silver for you at close to cost price as this is what i do at my work...let me know if anyone is interested in custom made casted pieces.(dont forget that when I make a lattex mould the reproduction is about 10-15% smaller due to shrinkage in the wax (lost wax process).

This has just given me an idea....i am going to do some homework on making an interceptor in sterling silver...just have to see if i can make a mould of something this size(shell of the car)...if not I would definately make most of the parts in silver...that would be pretty special but expensive...who cares it`s worth it dont ya reckon...

I am going to make some other limited edition pieces in sterling silver and make them available to you all in the near future. I am not interested in making money to profit for myself to just spend the cash on anything, the only reason is that i am just a battler like the rest of you and all I want to build is a coupe...to share with you fans that ever have a chance to come to a show one day where I hope my car will be. I just want to live this ride I am on, and keep it going for all of you and new fans to come.
I have never done any of my films or commecials to make money I always did it for fun...besides i never saw a cent untill I was like 30, the money i made which is not much for the years I worked on films was left in a bank account and I only used it like 4 years ago as a deposit on my first property. i did buy a motorbike (80 cc) as a kid at around 13 which my parents aloud me to do as a reward for all of my hard work doing filmwork. Oh yeah I forgot i had to pay $1700AUD for the damage I did to my sisters car after the accident (my fault) I had when I was on my learners permit driving by myself....Feral on the screen and on the road.

Emil, here's my site: http://www.madmaxmodels.com

I suppose that is the place to go if you are interested in Mad Max models. I haven't used the shot you provided of the Monaro side art, but I will soon. Take a look at the other decals that myself and others have made.

Great idea; making a blower out of sterling silver... wow, that would look incredible; the perfect shining centerpiece for that car. I don't know squat about precious metals; would you have to worry about it getting tarnished? Or is that why it is called 'sterling silver'?

There are some incredibly gifted modelers out there that might take you up on a commission for a Mad Max model car. I don't want to play favorites, so see for yourself. (Just don't pick me; I'm not good enough to truly do the vehicles justice!) I have a section for contacting the fans, and I'm sure any one of them would be glad to hear from you.

Bart! You're making a Monaro?!? You gotta let me see how it turns out! Watch that front end, its a real mother to work with...

Thanks HUMVEE. Pure silver is called Fine Silver and Sterling Silver is an alloy containing 92.5% Pure Silver and 7.5% Copper, so sterling silver would tarnish eventually but can be polished, and you could also Rhodium plate it so it would not tarnish or you can make it out of Fine silver which would not tarnish. If the blower is removable once fitted you could always polish it but this would be a bit of a hassle.
Thanks again and I`ll check out the site , I`m pretty sure I have seen it before but and going to have a detailed look at it.

Emil,
Thanks for all the behind the scenes pictures, that stuff is priceless! I'm wondering if you have any pictures to post of yourself as a non-feral kid, like dressed normally, normal haircut, at the same age you were when you acted in the Road Warrior...? I think it would be an interesting comparison.
Cheers

Hey Scar
yes, the car is still owned by Derek, and hidden away (unless you know where to look) and the name on the bottom, KT from broken hill is a very involved ford fan, with numours toys of great stature i assure you, Mr GT can tell you more about him. but if KT says thats what it was, then no question.

Dear Emil,

Thank you for replying to the private message I sent you a while ago.

I read somewhere on the Internet one of the reasons you were given the part of the Feral Kid was the story you provided for how the character made his way to the refinery.

Can you share here your background story of the Feral Kid or do you reserve that platinum tale for those fortunate individuals for walkabout to Australia for a Back to the Max event?

Thanks again for sharing your experiences on Mad Max 2 with us "wasteland trash."
