As for the radiation..
The levels of Gamma, Beta and Alpha radiation would have decayed to a safe level within a few weeks after the last Nuclear Detonation.
Remember.. there have been people living in Hiroshima for years.
I was watching some news show, and they were talking about dirty bombs. They said crap about whole cities having to be abandoned. I remember you or another member saying stuff similar to what I quoted above in blue, so what's the deal? Is this just a case of people overreacting? When the show mentioned the evacuation, they didn't say anything about it being temporary either. I thought a db would me more of a PITA as compared to a regular nuke.

I haven't found much on Dirty Bombs..
My information on regular Nukes comes from Various Civil Defense sources and Military Survival Manuals.
I'll see what I can dig up in the way of charts and such for demonstrational purposes..

Areas of the Ukraine around Chernobyl are still out of bounds. And there are still farming restrictions in parts of the UK from the fallout. It all depends on the type of radioisotope released. The iodine-131 and caesium-137 from the Windscale disaster here in the UK decayed to nowt in... nine days, I believe. Not sure what escaped from Chernobyl but evidently it has a very long half-life. As for bombs, the aftereffects and toxicity of the fallout can be altered by changing the fissile material used, but 'dirty bombs' are, traditionally, conventional explosives used to hurl large amounts of fiercly radioactive material about. If you could detonate one within a city which threw out large amounts of plutonium (the most toxic substance known to man) - with a half-life of 24,500-ish years.... it would be a very permenant evacuation.
In the abandoned areas of the Ukraine, so I hear, there are many wierd types of plant and insect and freakishly massive catfish living there. Maybe Max could be a catfish.

Never have been able to figure out what possible use such a device could have for other than Terrorist Activities.
"Kills people but leaves cities Intact". What the F*** use is a uninhabitable city? That's what I want to know.
Cheaper to M.O.A.B. it, build a new city and call it done.
Major Tom is correct, though.. Dirty Bombs leave a different sort of radioactive residue and have different half life decay rates.
But since we're talking about a Full Scale Nuclear War, not a terrorist attack when we refer to the Mad Max trilogy, I'd say the Dirty Bombs are not likely to have been used.
Anyway.. Click http://www.bwolf.com/article.php?aid=36 ... Protection for some info on Survival in Nuclear Conditions.

A good friend of mine worked in Hollywood.
As a Car Stereo Installer.
No offense mate, but "Working In Hollywood" doesn't exactly confirm that you're honestly in the Know.
I realize that If you ARE involved in the project somehow You're likely under a Non-disclosure Contract, so it would be impossible for you to give us details..
But you must understand.. This is the internet & There's a lot of people of all ages claiming to be things they aren't.
(I'd be a rich man if I had a dollar for every person I've run across that pretends to have genuine information about.. whatever project)
I'm afraid we just need a Little Proof.

I don't B.S, trust me on that..... Why is everyone so down on this project, it's just a movie. You guys just don't get how the market works in Hollywood. Its a no brainer. And this film will never become just a novel, thats not how Hollywood works people. Everyone should just stop writing on this site and wait for the film to come out. Trust me. Prey that he's still out there.
