Looks like the counterbalance to me. It's in the video. http://youtu.be/cXk1E4JmMOADetritusMaximus wrote:Anyone else find this a little interesting? Is he confusing the motor as counterweight for a smashing arm? Or is it really for smashing? Don't have time right now to go back and find a pic of that ute, but it's worth investigating.Another cool vehicle was a Ford Mainline ute , with dual wide rear wheels , and a big swinging arm with a dead engine/trans attached to it, for smashing .

I'll drop these here. Some photos of sets under construction and related stuff. The source link is in French and is a discussion about the damage done to the Dorob park.

I am tied of hearing about the damage that was done from these ECO freaks. This is why we live in the world we do.
Nambia should have never let us film there if they were worried. I mean, it is the middle of the fricken desert. No one can live out there for GODS sake.

This is a very ignorant, ugly statement. First of all, what do you mean, "This is why we live in the world we do"?Oldbiff wrote:I am tied of hearing about the damage that was done from these ECO freaks. This is why we live in the world we do.

Are you trying to blame environmentalists for some problem our world currently has? If so, that's laughable.
Secondly, you say no one can live in the desert? True, it's not the ideal place for humans, but do you have any clue at all as to what kinds of wildlife may call that desert their home? Do you have any idea how that wildlife may or may not be impacted by human activities in that area? No? Well then why are you mouthing off on the subject?

mother nature does more destruction to itself in the desert from what ive seen. unless we are talking about development and desert critters are pretty tough (ive been going to the desert my whole life)flightsuit wrote:This is a very ignorant, ugly statement. "Mother Nature" does not injure wildlife habitats in the ways that human activities do. That a desert critter may seem tough to you does not mean it won't be adversely impacted if we mess with its habitat or food chain.Mad Mark wrote: mother nature does more destruction to itself in the desert from what ive seen. unless we are talking about development and desert critters are pretty tough (ive been going to the desert my whole life)

Mostly commen sence would tell you that if it was a problem being in the desert they should have restricted the area and not let any filming take place. I fully understand the unatural impact humans tend to make to the envirnment but it seems they were only wining about tire tracks in the dirt (who f-ing cares about that?) cant really see what real damage that would have the ecosystem there.
