It still amazes me that in some of the chase scenes the tanker was stationary, pretty clever work!

Terrific analysis. That's a great CLUE, you're right.Stef-Man wrote:I don't think Miller said the film will be a reboot. The word was only in the headlines of (misinformed?) medias. I don't think Miller ever used the word reimagining. Only actors did. In fact Miller said nothing. Biolumen can correct me if I'm wrongMaybe I am (Ok, I didn't read this summer pitch of the movie to not spoil myself... maybe he used the words there...). Miller is the Man, I'll only accept what he has to say on that matter, like he did in 1985, describing Max as a prince of some sort (in french at least) wandering in the desert for 15 years since Mad Max 2. I'll wait the release of Fury Road and the interviews of the director to discover the true nature of this new adventure. However the jacket, as a copy of the Thunderdome jacket, is a clue I think, at least a reassuring element for me. But the main element is the fact that the Fury Road script was written for the Mel Gibson 2003 movie... and that, the fact this is the same script, is essential to understand that this film will probably be a chapter 4 in the Mad Max saga... or, nonetheless, could easily be seen as such.

but I am wrong. I could have sworn that I read a qoute by miller himself but this link dated dec 2012 states:
" Although George Miller, who directed the previous Mad Max movies, has returned for the fourth installment, we don’t know if the new film is a sequel or a reboot. "
then again there is a qoute on the wrapping up of the shooting also from december found here http://voices.yahoo.com/mad-max-fury-ro ... tml?cat=40
"Mad Max in what is being billed as a "re-imagining" of the franchise. "
I cannot dig up the qoute I swear I saw but for what it's worth I must have been wrong on that one and I am not above admitting that. that said it does seem to be a reimaging. and once more at days end what does this matter? if we are throwing the originals out so that miller can make a new trilogy ,one with real stunts not cgi, then so what. we can still love the movies that came before. we can still enjoy the movies the new movies and they could be two sperate entitles as it were.
if it's a sequel then do you any of you really think it will live up to what is in all of our heads? which would be worse a shitty sequel or an okay reboot? I personally don't care because none of this change the orginal movies for me at all full stop. at days end the orginal trilogy will still be on my shelf and still watched and I will still make the models for game mods from the orginal movies. mad max trilogy will always live in my heart.
but I don't get the debate I don't the fear or the worry. can this new film really do any more harm then what people ascribe thunderdom as having done? I don't see how unless tom hardy is digitally inserted into the orginal trilogy al-a industrial light and magic. I understand your pain to some degree I do. seeing these new machines for the first time felt like betrayal. but the more time I've have with them the more I read of the love of the crafters for this film the less I feel like this is anything less then what we've known from miller in the past.

http://blogs.indiewire.com/theplaylist/ ... -characterWith so many failed starts on a new “Mad Max” installment and filming set to start in early 2012, one would imagine that the narrative has changed dramatically. But Miller said that while it’s grown somewhat, it’s essentially much the same film he wanted to shoot in 2003. “Obviously I’ve worked on [the script] since, and we’ve got the whole movie designed – we’ve got 150 big vehicles built – and the world has evolved. I hope I’ve evolved, and I hope the movie’s evolved. But it’s pretty similar; at its core, it’s not that different.”

Anyone else find this a little interesting? Is he confusing the motor as counterweight for a smashing arm? Or is it really for smashing? Don't have time right now to go back and find a pic of that ute, but it's worth investigating.Another cool vehicle was a Ford Mainline ute , with dual wide rear wheels , and a big swinging arm with a dead engine/trans attached to it, for smashing .
