Yeah, that fact is not lost on me (but thanks for pointing it out). I have in fact, already contemplated the "Duelly" adaptor kit available through JC whitney, and other options (just dont want to hack out the quarters). Not all that much fabrication involved compaired to what has already gone into the car though, so no worries.
I always enjoy yacking about the XA, so hopefully this dosent sound like I am an A$$...... but in respect to Emil, and to keep this thread on track..... probably a better place for that conversation is in the "Red XA Batcar" thread in Replica cars. With that said, I am always open to questions or coments about my fave MM2 car!

Hey MFP1....another thing I remembered about the XA...correct me if I am wrong but when the gang come down to the compound where humungus gives his speach and I throw the boomerang. I am sure it is the XA that has a girl tied to the bonnet, well if that is correct then the thing I remembered is not about the XA as such but about the girl on the bonnet, she lived somewhere around broken hill and her family owned an arcade game parlour and she invited me to spend the day there and imagine being 8 years old and spending the day playing for nothing, as many games as I wanted. And they had trampolines outside and i spent hours on one. What a buzz at 8.
I found some more photos as I mentioned and there was not any of the XA by itself but I will post one of the snake truck and you can just see the XA behind it.
It`s around 11am now and I going to town for a few hours, hporfully when I get back I will post it and the contuation of the scene I am posting.
Catch ya soon

"Like...OMG!" Are these 110mm "instamatic" photos? The radiused corners and the square format...perfect period photos. I haven't seen that format of pics for say...20 years?
Too bad the Snake Truck doesn't look that good now...especially with the way it's stored now. I also noticed that the weels are 10-spoke with a 5-bolt pattern instead of the typical eight.
EMIL. These pics are great for us modelers too. I really appreciate them from that aspect as well. The side shot of the truck is perfect for scaling off of as well. Thanks.

A day of "Free Play" at an arcade........ COOL! That even sounds fun to me now in my,uh Adult, uh, ish, years.... Guess I am still a kid at heart. Trampolines are a blast too. Thant must have been one of the highlights of the whole experience at 8? Great tie in to the Red XA (that girl is tied to the door hinges and the huge zoomies), and fun too.
That is a VERY cool pic of the Cobra Truck (my next project using my 68 f-100). The bit of the XA showing is helpful too. I have been wondering if I made the tail just a tad to high, but now can see it is about right.
Awesome to see those vehicles sitting there with the Trailers. Were they used to get folks from location to location as well sometimes, when the cars had to be there too at least?

MFP1.... To be honest I don`t recall if they used the film cars to get people to and from but I do remember that the truck was often driven back to town, this was probably the way Dennis Williams (truck stuntie) got back to his motel.
Here is some more pics of the scene that I have been posting. From the third pic (me with the mask on) you can obviously see that I was having fun doing this scene.
THE KOOKABURRA CAFE STORY.
Like I have said before Guy Norris had his leg in plaster doing this scene. Well at the end of the day we went back to town and Guy took me to the KOOKABURRA CAFE (main street of Broken Hill). Before we went in he said lets play a joke on the owner of the cafe, he told me what to do and we went in to order our bannana smoothies, well as were waiting, the counter or more like a bar in a pub was about chest height to Guy and not even head height to me. So Guy started getting angry at me and I gave hims some lip back and it was on for young and old. So the fight was on and Guy got me in a head lock and about now the owner stopped making the drinks and was very concerned about my welfare, well in a head lock Guy started ramming my head into the counter, and the owner was shocked and started saying let the poor kid go, he could not see that Guy was actually hitting his cast and not my head. I then stepped back so the owner could see me and we both started laughing in histerics as we had got him a beauty. He could not beleive it was a prank.
I know this might not sound like much but this is the clearest thing I remember about being in broken hill and I can still picture the shop and being inside, so much that when I went to Broken Hill for the Back2themax reunion I did not remember the place much at all but as we drove down the main street I looked to my left and saw a shop and instantly recognised it as THE KOOKABURRA CAFE. It was not even a cafe now but it looked clear as day to me that this was the place we often went back to for a drink at the end of a days shoot.
I will put these three pics now to complete this story and like I have said I found some more pics on the weekend and there is some absolute awsome ones that I have forgotten about. They will be posted in the very near future.
Thanks for letting me live this again.

Bronze the shortbeds never came with 8 lugs. That red Snake F100 is a half tone 2wd sitting on 31 inch tires. And Emil, you say you have a 1968 F100.you do know that you'll need a 70-72 front grill frame as the 67-69's are totally different.
