Excuse me while I go cry in a corner until May 2015.
I could get to LA for free using my frequent flyer miles, but I would not be able to get out of work. Anyway, the movie isn't finished, and I'd rather the first time I see the movie that it be the finished product.

What about McWeeny? Would they even let him in?

This trailer is bringing forth alot of heated discussions on other boards. I've seen people arguing about the timeline, use/overuse of cgi, the cast and so on. And so much people are already shooting the film down without actually seeing it.

I think it's fair to ask questions? Many people are saying the film looks awesome and will be great - the same rule applies to them then, surely we can't know either way. To be fair the trailer shows the film could go either way as it is finely balanced in tipping over into over the top and silly. I've raised questions on this board, but they are just questions and not statements.IMO the trailer tells me this film can either be a really exciting action film or a silly video game-esque mess; it certainly won't be profound like the first or ground breaking like the second.

Having said that! I really want to see the film and I'm more hopeful of a good action film than I was. If miller balances the insanity well, it could be one of the best movie going, pop corn chewing, smile inducing experiences you could have at a cinema. Stunt men and prop department deserve HUGE credit from what I can see.

Absolutely buying in to George Millers new vision here. The King is dead. Long live the King, for our American cousins, There`s a new Sheriff in town.

Anyone shooting down the film based on the trailer has either already made their mind up due to other factors (holding onto elements they want kept from the original trilogy), or just don't know what it is that they want.

This is the best trailer I've seen for an action movie in a long time. Cars, stunts, action, and an A grade cast of actors to boot - what's not to like here? The only thing the trailer doesn't really tell me is the story, and the film may sink or swim off the back of that, but a little early to make a call on that one. Just the same, the action pieces look like they're going to be huge, and I can't imagine that not being worth the price of a ticket alone to most action movie goers. I also didn't spot a whole lot of cgi, unless people are talking backgrounds. The stunts in the trailer all looked as real as they come from where I was sitting.

I think anyone shooting it down has already made some assumptions based on what they personally wanted to see. As pauli also said, it still could go either way once we see the finished film, but anyone writing it off at this point, you'd have to ask what is was that they were really looking for in a Mad Max film, that hasn't been done already.

Well I posted the trailer on a popular gaming/movie board when it was first uploaded and the response was all positive save for 1 or 2 and the comments from some there were they had no interest to being hyped to hell.

Also, not really an accurate gauge or anything but the Youtube views...now almost 4 million.

I've been waiting nearly my whole life for this, with eager anticipation. I saw MM2 in 1984 when I was much too young and I loved it. Soon after I saw MM and I loved it. I love these first two. MM3 was lackluster, with some good and bad points. I have so badly wanted a great STORY that explores Max as a person. I was hoping for some PreMM, and Post MM and Post MM2 work. Maybe a great STORY between MM1 and MM2, or before MM3...

MM3 was a let down, because of the "Ewok" effect. Yes, those same little buggers that killed Star Wars Return of the Jedi were the kids in MM3. In my view it was a dumb plot idea. It sorta worked, but was really weak. And they ripped off the MM2 final chase scene with the train. And the whole Gyro captain thing... WTF? Oh well. MM3 was okay overall.

I held my breath and watched this trailer and felt ill. I watched it again a few times, and felt more ill. Yes, I'm afraid that it's a big disappointment. My fears were confirmed. As with all things Hollywood, everything is larger than life, bigger, badder, CGI, huge unnecessary explosions, near death getaways at every instant, totally unbelievable fake stunts which detract from what could be a great story... Just a big pile of crap CGI exhausting and gratuitous chase scenes for the sake of chase scenes. Looks like big pile of CGI shit.

First, the obvious. The trailer. He clearly has the "black on black interceptor." Weird, but I saw it get destroyed in MM2. So, I'm thinking, "cool, maybe this is a pre-MM2 film." Wrong. We next cut to watching the interceptor get destroyed in a brutal roll-over, where Max once again survives. Let's not set aside the fact that surviving non-seatbelted roll-overs is extraordinary ... and he's already done it twice in MM2. So now he's like the king of surviving vehicle rollovers with a 3rd one under his belt. And it's occurred to me that Max, supposed to be legendary for his driving skills, seems to get rolled-over on the regular...

So, this trailer has already created more story questions than answers... how does he have the interceptor again, and if it's pre-MM2 where is his dog sidekick? Immediately, this all makes no sense. Other questions, why continue to cast prior actors as new characters (or perhaps old characters) between films? It's just confusing and unnecessary. (See the Gyro copter and the tall mental retard from MM1 characters). Now we have Toe cutter reappearing as Immortum Joe. WTF? Makes zero sense. Are there no other actors who can star...?

Let's next move to the IDEA of MM. This is a world of survival, not excess for the sake of excess. Survival means efficiency of motion and vehicles. The vehicles of MM were very efficient. Mostly motorbikes. Low gas consumption. The vehicles of MM2 were bikes, cars and small dune buggies. Some hotrods, and practical or personal changes - air guns mounted, some added protection.

Let's also consider that this movie appears to have fallen victim to the PC crowd. Instead of the little Ewoks, we now have the our version of Grace Jones, you know the catwalk model who played "warrior Zula" who helped to torpedo Conan #2. So, we have this beautiful Hollywood actress and her band of merry beautiful virgins who have lived a decade, two decades, in the wasteland and survived. Please. Are we really that stupid? Or is this just yet another attempt to draw in a wider more diverse audience?

Let's slap a PG rating on it, throw in some talking cats and dancing dogs. While we're at it, let's put in a freshly washed and waxed Ford Mustang (like driven at the beginning of "I am legend") and pin-stripped Camaro (a la Transformers) to boost marketing.

Now, the film is a caricature of itself. We have these enormous totally impractical vehicles, which probably suck gasoline at the rate of an open furnace. Massive and irreplaceable tires and vehicles whose very parts are obscure and irreplaceable. In a world where the hunt for gasoline is only secondary to water and food, what 'fuels' this massive Army of people in MONSTER TRUCKS racing around the desert? A monster truck gets 1-2 mpg. You would need to pull a full fuel tanker along next to these just to fuel them... perhaps that's what they fuel tanker they pull is for... but it seems quite self-defeating to burn more fuel than you're 'capturing.' What is efficient about people dangling from large poles off of vehicles? Super unnecessary danger and makes no sense. Nothing this stupid - even the bording of the Mack truck in MM2, was this absurd. Big high wire circus trapeze artists a la Alvin Ailey is hardly terrifying, and more simply silly. Are these borders? Looks and seems asinine and totally impractical.

We got very little glimpse of the bad guys, but I was not impressed. Big CGI explosions. Yawn. Seen these before in every other crappy Hollywood pile 'o garbage ...

Ask yourself WHY was MM and MM2 (and even if you liked MM3) where they sooo compelling and good. If you're like me, the story and acting were supplemented by logical, high octane chases that were plausible and believable. It was a thinking mans movie. They were good because they were made with blood and sweat, and adherence to the laws of physics. The violence was very much real. Think of the real-ness of the way the Goose was burned alive, or the Golden Youth being hit with the boomerang, or the off scene violence of the rape and crossbow killing, or the violence in the car chases...

Now, we have caricature vehicles with big cartoon explosions, with endless explosions, topped only by the next 'more bigger' explosion... MM4 appears to have turned the thinking mans movie into just another Hollywood explosion-fest. The desert was boring in MM3, and will likely be just as boring in MM4.

Much more interesting, I would have preferred a great STORY occurring between MM1 and MM3. A story of human suffering and perseverance, with some exciting realistic car chases and the backdrop of decayed society. Every car chase doesn't need to OUTDO the previous one. Creativity is a plus, but not at the expense of suspending logic or practicality.

That 3 minute trailer was a punch in my gut and wiped away 3 decades of wishful thinking of what could be versus the pile of garbage that this appears to be... and it makes me so annoyed with Hollywood. I've now become convinced that Hollywood can destroy any great series of movies.

Clearly, I'm pretty upset by this...

I digress...
