Although furyroadcars didnt exactly answer my question i do respect your reasoning for not doing so....we have become very spoilt seeing in advace behind the scenes of the cars feautured in this movie. I am very positive about this movie, Tom Hardy has the same brooding appeal that Mel Gibson had...and after seeing the Brendan Mc C arthy interview on You Tube , im totally amped. Cheers

as a die hard mm fan i think this will appeal to all, new and old.
i only wish the effort spent on the vehicles could be shown in detail on screen, they are amazingly detailed and well thought out! the vehicle guys looked after them real well for us.
and the bikes...wow.
hard to say too much....as much as i'd love to.
its interesting reading peoples thoughts about and guesses on whats what in the film.

I am very hopeful and optomistic. I mean really has miller let us down yet in the world of mad max? some might say thunderdome but I say you just don't understand that movie. I used to be like most of you as a kid I was not a fan of mad max 3 but I grew to understand it and even found a way to appreciate it. that aside. I guess I have one main question and I get if it cannot be answered but as a 3D modeler I am curious.

Is the black on black interceptor now featured on the front page the actual version of the hero's car in the film or not. part of me just don't buy it and I don't want to model something for early promotion if it's not in the film.

I have noticed especially when first pics of The Gigahorse were revealed...it got a lot of negative comments....im not sure why , when Mad Max 2 came out with all the advertising with Max standing next to the Lone Wolf machine....i mean that looked really diffrent rom any vehicles we saw in Mad Max ....im glad these vehicles are wild looking...and i dont believe its a direct sequel to any of the movies....im hoping for a reboot like some people are saying....Ive introduced Mad Max 1 n 2...to a lot of my younger friends and they too are totally amped to see Fury Road explode onto the screen. Im really excited about this rumoured Ripsaw with the Charger body.....and seeing this metal finish Interceptor with the twin blower set up.... :D

Please do not speak for all of us!

I have been a die hard fan since seeing Mad Max 2 in the cinema in 1982! (and yes it changed my life as it has for most of us)

I am really excited that this a reboot!

Actually more so than if it was a sequel, which we know it's not. If in doubt please recheck the forums.

Yes it is, as confirmed here:

I am going to assume that this is the same interceptor from 2003!
Correct, although it was shipped home to Australia back in 2003 and sat in a storage shed in Sydney until 2009. It was then bought back to the Fury Road vehicles workshop and pulled apart and redone. So although everything on the car was either removed and refitted, or replaced or redone it is the same shell.

In regards to the rear side indicator it was cut out and turned the right way around to be correct to an early XB and also because I didn't want people thinking the car could be an XC (it is of course a late XB hardtop, early 76 in the case of this car).

You're right, my sentence was unappropriate in some ways. Still, I hope this is not a reboot :)

I'm not sure of that. We have to wait and see to be sure.

A direct sequel where we are expected to ignore the lack of Mel Gibson is a lot harder for me to swallow. This isn't like James Bond. It's more along the lines of Indiana Jones or Snake Plissken. Harrison Ford and Kurt Russell own those characters (figuratively). I don't like the idea of a new actor, but if they absolutely have to do it then don't insult my intelligence or the legacy of the original series with a shoe-horned sequel. Start over and let the new movie stand on its own.
