Well , jesus, what a confusing mess.
i was extremely dissapointed with THE MATRIX RELOADED. firstly, they've turned the damn franchise into a glorrified Marshall arts series. do we really need to see a f**king kung fu fight every 10 mins (the one between NEO and that asian guy who was with the ORACLE was just an excuse, there was no need for it at all, it was just another excuse for a fight scene) an hour into the f**king movie and i was begging for a f**king gun battle.
where were the f**king guns. who the f**k told the directors, "hey man, more kung fu, we really loved the fighting in the first one, we need more"? noone i know, every one i know loved that 'metal detector' scene, and the 'roof top' battle, sure i really like the fighting in the first one, because it was restrained, and they only used hand to hand, when they're bullets ran out, not while they had a goddamn perfectly good gun in their waistband.
And jesus christ, did they really need that whole 'ZION dance' sequence? what a waste of 10 f**king minutes, watching NEO and TRIN, root. we didn't need that, it just hollywoodised it, thats what was cool about the first - there was just a kiss, and we knew all we needed to know, the sex scene was just not needed.
though i seriously did like the freeway chase, not the actual chase, just the intensity of it, throwing that 'Key guy' around and sh*t, trying to keep him safe, it was pretty tense, and yeah, PETER was right, it wasn't half as digital looking as you think its gonna be from the adds (the car chase i mean, cause the rest - there was just no real buildings anymore, they were all just digital).
maybe i'm being a bit harsh, maybe i just loved the first one too much - believe me i really dug THE MATRIX, it really touched me, but this one, i think i'll just 'THUNDERDOME' it. its a movie on its own, got f**k all to do with the first as far as i'm concerned - though i will see REVOLUTIONS - hopefully it will tell me what the f**k that last movie was about.
"wheres NEO?"
"he's doin his superman thing"
