Yeah, so I guess that's what we should be calling the alternative timeline now. Or a a new timeline based on the original movies.
To be honest I liked Max better when he wasn't so hopelessly attached to the past, but rather returning to his former self at the end of MMBT, but I guess that's one way to keep his story going. Maybe in Miller's mind, Max will never be complete.

i hate being "that guy" (uncle entity) but; if this is an alternate timeline, why did they bother to go with explaining the other films? am i missing something?

Yeah I don't know either really. Probably because it is part of Mad Max and it'd be weird not to include it? Then again on one of the protest signs it says "Abbott" as in Tony Abbott, the current beloved prime minister of Australia? So the apocalypse started right about NOW, but then they drive 70's cars for no reason, there's the environmental concern thrown in the mix (none of that was in the original timeline - people rioted because there was no fuel, not because someone polluted their environment), then nukes drop before MM2, Roop and Charlie make a comeback.... it's a chronological mess. At least the original trilogy had some continuity, but this comic throws it out the window to tie it in with Fury Road.

Ugh. Giving this one a miss, I think. Can't take the artwork. Badly traced movie stills. Also, looks like Max has been growing his beard and hair for years at the start of Fury Road. You just know he's going to have short hair and stubble in this a la MM2.

The comic said he wants to rebuild the Interceptor by taking jobs and all. That is hard to believe, the Interceptor was wrecked beyond rebuilding, the shell is ruined, and with all that time he spent wandering around, the shell would have rot out like hell.
And how would he rebuild it ? Put the shell somewhere safe ? Lol this is just forcing it.

Rebuild as in build from scratch again. Not repair what's broken. The old Interceptor was blown to pieces.
It's right in the frame next to it, where he salvages from a XB buried in sand. That's not his car.
And it is forcing it indeed. Unless we treat Mad Max at face value - an anti-super hero series and not realistic portrayal of postapocalyptic society.
So basically, as long as Bruce Wayne can rebuild his caves, cars, aeroplanes and whatnot - without having his cover blown off, Max Rockatansky can rebuild his car in the middle of nowhere using nothing while eating and drinking nothing. Movie magic.
