No really lads,

Exactly which Mad Max DVD has a full audio commentary track on it? I've got a Region 4 Aussie version with some boring old text only special features and the old Region 1 with the US dialogue but no commentary on either. Don't seem to be any on eBay at the moment, from what I can see.

Help!

Go to this page, it is listed near the top with a picture of the cover:

From memory it has since been re-released in a more budget cover, and it was also released inside the US / Region A blu-ray. Unfortunately the commentary track was recorded for MGM, hence you won't find it on any non-US release of Mad Max.

Firefighter wrote:Just wacthed the scene with the comantary and they said that the driver of the truck requested that so he didn't smash his truck, it was also stated that he was paid in beer for the use of his truck. What a great payment.
Unfortunately though, although the impact didn't damage the front of the truck, running over the debris did - the foot peg of the bike went up through the sump and damaged the truck anyway. Oops!

So the Special Edition, DVD Release Date January 1, 2002, has a commentary by designer Jon Dowding, cinematograper David Eggby, special effect designer Chris Murray & Tim Ridge. Anyone else speaking? Do they talk along with the movie or is it their voices during an interview or something?

That's the one i have and the commentary follows along with the movie. It also has a trivia track that flashes little facts about the movie as it plays.

Maybe a old Norton Commando. In no way this bike is a Kawasaki Z 1000. The tank appears to be too small and why the hell the fairing is not even visible from the beginning on. The handlebar has a complete different form and Toecutter is a simple dummy. Easy noticeable at the end as the truck runs him over. Such little details are normal for such an old film but irritates me after each watshing.
Never noticed, but you`re right! small bike, twin or even single.

I know it's only a movie but to this day i'll never understand why Toecutter didn't just swerve around the truck, it's not like he didn't have time....

Because he committed suicide rather than surrender to Max. He knew the pursuit would end in his death.

Watch the film from when Tocutter finds the photos in his helmet at the craigieburn wreckers.

Yep, the Falcon XB Coupe 73 had 600 HP, but Toecutter's bike was heavily ehanced with the "for in one" and some other nice modifications. To me me Toecutter's bike was just as fast as the Pursuit Special, just that Toecutter was in panic and couldn't ride as fast as Max's car cauz' of the lost of all the members of his gang. To me me Toecutter lost all what he had and lost the final conflict against Max cauz' of panic and even the betray of Bubba Zanetti. During the famous chase, Toecutter was getting smaller and smaller. This was the ending of the Glory Riders. Max was even a bigger fish than the Toecutter was. Falcon or Kawasaki Z 1000. Toecutter lost and died the same way as the Nightrider did. Max is to me the exact same beast as the gangs he chases before. A man with no emotions. :o So Question: Who's the different between Max and the Toecutter Gang? I see nothing. Max is from now one a Code 3. An Irony: A man who's driving a Police car in an uniform and still thinking he's the good guy.
I could probably make it on my own, but I like you kids.
