Who Built the New Interceptor???

Hi all, my name is Ash and I am a long time fan of this site. I am currently in the process of building my own Interceptor, having recently purchased a XB Coupe. Was wondering if any one out there would know of who may have built the new Interceptor as shown by George Miller recently. The nose cone looks suspiciously like a modified nose cone from Advanced Spoilers, however the front wheels do no look like Sunraysia's. What do you guys think?

Hi 'Wage War - Here is a pic of my coupe, looking a bit more like Mad Max two at the moment, please excuse the poor quality photo as I took it with my phone. I wish I was involved with the film!! Although I think I may have convinced the missus to go down to Broken Hill to visit some friends next year, round about filming time. When I get some funds togeather I am hoping to buy the body kit next, anyone know where to get a good kit?? I have seen a few on the net but would like to get peoples thoughts / experiences with them. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

This is a subject of spirited debate sometimes, but Ill risk a flamejob and give you my take on it since nobody else has stepped up to help.

One of the best ones available with a full bolt on front clip & including bonnet and bootlid (particularly from a build technology stanpoint) is recognized to be made by www.MadMaxCars.com in the USA.

More locally to you, if you do not want to add shipping to your expences, there are several makers in Australia with quality/accuracy ranging from "totally top shelf" to "dont waste your cash". As I have not owned any of those personally I will let others with direct experience give you their take on the various options.

Thanks MFP1 for your reply. I understand from previous and older posts that there seems to be some history and spirited debate about suppliers of Interceptor kits. I would not like re-open old wounds, but I would like to find out all the possible suppliers of this kit. Any google search will reveal the following Australian suppliers

Madmaxmovies.com also lists Scott Smiths e-mail on this site as: [email protected]. Scott has also been featured in Unique Cars Magazine and I would like to get in contact with him however I have sent him an e-mail but as yet have not had a reply, however Unique Cars mentions that he may not wish to produce kits any more. Can anyone confirm this?

I would prefer to buy Australian due to the logistics and shipping costs of purchasing an overseas kit however I find aussie muscle's comment about madmaxcars.com very interesting.

Does any one know where to get the Falcon GT side flutes that get attached just behind the doors?

Most fan black on black cars are closer to the real thing than the one in that video. The nose cone also looks pretty "off" with that grid where the headlights go.

*EDIT*

The original movie car at Cars of the Stars also has an inaccurate nose cone, so I assume that the Monza nose as a "genuine" part made by Peter Arcadipane is no longer "officially" available.

I am not sure where you would get an idea like that (but I would be curious to know)..... I mean where would we be without our Australian friends and associates... pretty lost in the world of Aussie Falcons that is for sure. Our most recent kit that shiped to Oz was only a few months ago, & the fist one sent there was probably only the 4th or 6th we made. In any case we are world wide friendly, kits & Parts & Cars gone to Germany, Japan, UK, etc as well as all over the USA.

No problem. It seems as though we can actually talk about this today.... big steps. I will put forth of what I know about some of the supplier you list, which is that: Scott Smith seems to be far and away recognized as the best builder of kits and replicas in Australia and I would not hesisatate to reccomend him from all I have heard and seen....... On the OTHER end of the spectrum, I would avoid Advanced Spoilers unless they have made siginificant changes to their parts and method of manufacture since the old days when I saw one of theirs firsthand, or unless you would like to add extra work and hassle for yourself needlessly.

No but the orginal mould still exsists..... as well as some of the others used in the movie.
