Your right Bart, the 'cancer' was there well before Afghanistan or Iraq,it just seems that everytime we get involved in the muslim world we just give them more ammo to fire back.
We have somehow strayed to "politics" here. That means that a "peace" between radical Islam can be negotiated.

Adrian, my take on why the U.S. went into Iraq is primarily PNAC, the Project for a New American Century, a plan peddled by Wolfowitz, Perle, Feith, et.al. for twenty years. In George W. Bush, they finally got a taker, after George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and Benjamin Netanyahou all turned them down. The main idea was getting boots on the ground in the Middle East. September 11th provided the excuse, but Afghanistan wasn't centrally located or important enough, so began the Iraqi adventure. I'm sure Bush had visions of history and posterity and immortality in mind when the PNACers were whispering in his ear, but I don't think it's gone as easily as they convinced him it would.
Personally, I wouldn't have had a problem with the PNAC plan, if it had been implemented in Afghanistan, where we had a globally recognized reason to be.

In all fairness i am one of the moderators.... and Thunderdome was not set up so people can preach killing, murder and incite hatred...

Discuss the issues.... yes great.... but as soon as that line is crossed into which people start preaching about killing people or a certain race or religion then it is no longer a discussion....
Those rules were set out quite clearly when thunderdome was opened....
But again some people seem to have issues with it....
a lot of this discussion appear to be based on US ideals and ugly ideas of exterminating a race of people in their home country. So lets consider an imaginary reverse scenario...
Firstly, imagine a huge very powerful nation known as the "United Arab States" (UAS) Exists. It has a lot of guns and is used to getting what it wants.
It looks at a foreign culture of The USA. From the UAS perspective, they see the USA as a violent decadent culture, full of apparently backwards cultural relics like pronography, scantily clad girls, alcohol and poverty (look at New Orleans).
They see the past acts of the USA rigging elections in south America and attempting to overthrow governments and decide that the USA sponsors terrorism. They also decide that the USA is a clear danger. They also conclude that the USA has nuk-u-lar (nuclear) and chemical weapons (Which in fact they do).
Because they are so insular and don't bother considering any other cultural viewpoints other than their own, The UAS decides that the USA has oil resources they want and invades them citing a lie as their reason. They say that they will bring a new form of government and replace the USA's backwards corrupt democracy.
The islamic president of the UAS, (Ali W. Boosh) appears shortly after the invasion in a carefully managed press opportunity on a UAS aircraft carrier and declares victory.
He gives contracts for rebuilding america to all his best mates and their Arab companies and they all get very rich.
Once "Major UAS combat operations" finsh, The American civilians get angry and form guerilla armys to try and kick the Arab UAS soldiers out of their country. But when this happens, the UAS soldiers call them "inurgents" and "terrorists" and have no-idea why they are fighting against the UAS soldiers who brought islamic "FREEDOM" and "PEACE" to the former USA.
However ever since the USA govt was toppled, the country also decends into civil war between states from the south and the north, this war has a long history and has been simmering for years... why cant they jut get along says the Arab goverment?
Fighters from both north and south are called terrorists and insurgents by the UAS government...
Finally the Arab president, decides he can "Win" this war by sending a surge of Arab UAS soldiers to "Defeat" the American inurgents and terrorists...
This whole thing sounds quite rediculous doesnt it!!! Except that its happening right now (in reverse). For some reason, the Americans think thats ok...
Guess what it would be like if the tables were reversed.

Hell just yesterday over 100 people got wasted in Somalia over some political bullsh*t.over 150 got blown to sh*t in Iraq a couple of days ago and it wasn't by my countries Nazi horrid war monger military either!
