Get a grip kiddies...the trilogy (flawed as it is) should be left alone, show me a good sequel or prequel made 20 years after the last and I'll show you a deluded star wars fan. The warrior should have made a return in MM3 but George got all maudin on us, what with Byron biting the dust, and made a kids film instead. Its too late now, we'll just have to accept it.

And while we're on Tired, Dead Horse-Beating arguments (Recasting) why don't we bring up the Timeline issue and the Jebidiah/Gyro Captain arguments as well..
Lol
Re: Thunderdome and whether or not it should be Struck From the Record.
I personally don't have a Problem with MM3.
It wasn't in the same tone as the first two.. Didn't seem as Serious.. but at least it kept within the coninuity.
This is far more than I can say for many other Sequels..
Highlander 2, Chronicals of Riddick, SW 1, 2 & 3..
Unfortunately, we the viewer don't have the right to say "This movie doesn't fit.. throw it out"
(Well, we do have the right to say it.. but it won't make the movie maker say "Oh, yes! I Agree! Pitch that mother!)
All we can really do is Not buy the DVD and sit on a message board and Whinge about it.

Chronicles of Riddick??
I just finally got a copy of that film and thought it was preeeeetty damn good. I watched Pitch Black only the once and thought it pretty dire but chronicles was better than I expected it to be.
Just my little input as regards sequels.
As for Miller and Fury Road... talk is cheap
When I see the trailer at the cinema then I might start hoping.... until then....?

I say go and recast the role. Make it a tweener between the 1st and 2nd film. Beginning with johnny the boy blowing up and ending with Wez and the mauraders in the rearview mirror. There is alot of story there that was never told.

I need to know how much time elapsed between Max I and Max 2. If it were three years, the car couldn't have oxidized in that amount of time...it's the desert, things last for years....15 years maybe, if there was acid rain. I need to know for a "project" I'm working on. What does the book say?

The book doesn't say.
I make it at two years.
The car's dirty & battered, not rusty.
Filming Script for Thunderdome says Max hadn't seen a city in 20 years.
Official Filmbook for T-Dome says 18 years after Road Warrior.
Assuming MM1 is the last time he saw a city..
2 years.
But then, there are those that dissagree with the version of the timeline thatI think is correct..

18 years betwwen 2 & 3 ? That would have put max at say what 45 ? With the damage done to his knee in 1 and normal aging he'd be lucky to be walking let alone doing what he does in 3.
I agree the car was dirty and beat but not rusted. There is plenty to be told between 1 & 2. Like why did Jesse die when the docs sad her vitals came back okay. Did Max mercy kill her? Did the MFP chase hm down for his unauthorized use of the BoB and his vigilante killings of Toecutter gang? How did he and dog meet? How did he outfit the BoB as we come to see it in the Road Warrior? How did he survive the wasteland? Plenty of tales to be told I think.

18 Years.
Miller Said so.
Miller also said recently (November Article) said that Max was 21 in the First film, so he'd only be 41 in the third if it was as the script stated 20 years later..
So do you hold to the "Mad Max Set in 1999" (
1999, 2001 & 2017) theory?
Or do you think it was previous to that?
(I tend to lead towards a timeline of
1984, 1986 & 2004, myself, Based on the information presented in the films themselves)
