Stupid question here, but....
would the complete absence of headlamp covers be allowed? removing the blue light is simple enough and doing a quick change of the exhaust is not that hard either and for that matter, removing the blower should take less than 5 minutes

thats exactly it Doug. Technically these are defect issues, not traffic infringement notice related. The blue light is illegal in any car except emergeny service vehicles, but could be used on a static display. If you can remove or fix the defect on the spot then the defect would not be issued. Thats how i run my system, easy to remove if questioned. The headlight covers are not allowed to be striped or have any covering that needs a 'tool' to remove, thats why all after market covers snap on. The extra track withd and wheel backspacing can all be easily engineered. The exhausts are dummied so they are no real issue. But hey...I havent even seen the car or spoken to the owner...what would I know.
BTW thatnks for all the pics on your site. I really appreciate all the time and money you have spent developing you car and the fact that you openly share pics and info. thats the way the world should be.

Headlight covers are only illegal at night........So thats dealt with as i havent seen any night shots of any of these cars.
Blue light can be covered when driving.........As all shots ive seen it appears to be when on display,,,,,,,so that issue is dealt with.
Obscured Vision........Its a measure of distance and hotrodders get around that so why couldnt a replica B.O.B. Which Markes car has.
I wouldnt have liked to be pulled over by you Nelson during your 6 year career as an officer of the law, because despite any documentation held by a driver of a street legal vehicle , you would have obviously still written the ticket. But then i guess you were only a general duties officer and didnt know the entire motor traffic act.

Three Cheers B.O.B cat, Its folk like Nelson and his mate Scott that get on here and profess they are the Experts on anything to do with B.O.B Replica's. which is clearly not the case. All i can say of experts,,,,,,,,EX being not in stock, and SPERT being a drip under pressure.

Now now people.....
Bobcat as a newbie on here, suddenly jumping into a debate on your first day on here seems a bit more then just sus to me. Even moreso when you call someone who you dont even know a "turd". So unless your someone else posing as newbie i would becareful who you call a turd....... From the Moderator......
Everyone is entittled to an opinion on here... so lets settle down folks.
I dont know what the laws are like interstate, but they are mostly the same Australia wide.
In QLD the zoomies are ok..so long as they are fake. The Police lights are illegal no matter what..even if covered up. Unless your on private property. Same with a siren.
The blower sticking out of the bonnet no matter what is illegal... (even an aircleaner!) unless the car has "Club" rego... which only allows you to drive the car to club meetings, shows and to and from a mechanic.
The offset rims are also illegal here.... and unless you run full floating axles... no engineer would certifiy it here.
Hot rods come under a totally different cateygory...... as i believe it has to be "home built" to a certain extent.... over 60%???
Which is the mind boggling bit... as i have seen a blown T-Bucket with no engine covers, exposed front wheels.. which is perfectly legal... but the Interceptor cant be ????
So unless you want to fully engineer your "home built" replica using ..say the floor pan from an XF Falcon..... and a carbon fibre body..... that would be the only way i can think of doing it.
We are 100% snafu....
