That happened when the car was being built they put a temporary bracket behind to support the nosecone so the bonnet would close. The cracks appeaared after they painted it and will be repaired when the car goes back for some other repairs.

When you were at the discovery centre, did you notice if that XB ex Police interceptor was still there? I am not sure if it is owned by the centre or if it's privately owned by a collector...

Don't know about now but 20 years ago in Perth W.A the cops were ferocious on ANY modified detail on cars.If you couldn't clear a can of coke, your car got a canary(yellow sticker meaning it's illegal to drive) and massive fines. If tyres were wider than factory standard, again a canary.Even specialised wheels and hub caps were targetted, among other things. There were hundreds of imported 1950-1960's American cars all restored and tricked up but by god every male car owner under 50 was wary of the cops. They'd pull over any car and go through the whole thing with a fine tooth comb-under the bonnet, everywhere.I think(from memory) any fines also affected driver's licenses-demerit points, etc.

Aussie cops would go nuts in Tucson. Cars without hoods, doors, quarter panels etc. As long as it's got a windshield and bumpers it seems to pass for street leagle.

Yes the XB Police car is still at there, it is just a standard white XB Falcon Police car. There is also a blue XB GS cut away which has some very nice original parts on it.
