What's wrong with this picture?

Rocka, good point "everyone knows there were 2 BoBs" Well yeah, I could see that but what gets me is the actual scene above clearly shows the car's nose right there in shot. Is this the car they used in the Gyro meeting? If so, then someone really messed up on the sequencing which meant they would have had to reshoot the whole thing again.

Gaps between wheel and arches I can understand which could indicate there were two different cars... or the suspension collapsed on one of them during filming, whatever. But to remove the nose for that shot when they had a car already with the nose missing seems a little OTT.

I'm still rooting for the missing footage angle.

And Rocka, put us (me, mostly) out of our misery and show this Dead Reckoning that could bugger the Interceptor! Go on, I dares ya! Image

The Japanese have more MM memorabilia than anyone else? Hmmm time for a net search methinks. Looking forward to seeing what you have to share with us jmu2000.

I have quickly put two scans through my system and put them in a subfolder of my other website with a view to eventually creating an archive site of Mad Max memoribilia.

So far the grand total of two items have been scanned!

The first is the page from the Mad Max II Japanese brochure that shows Max with his post BoB crash eye injury, leaning on the BoB itself!http://www.securitynovels.freeuk.com/Ma ... xOnBoB.jpg

The second interesting item is the Mad Max II Japanese sticker set. This has the same picture as above plus some nice shots of the other vehicles from the film.

I will get down to some serious scanning and sorting out some webpages in the near future.

EDIT - Webpages now up: http://www.securitynovels.freeuk.com/MadMaxMemo/

Note that if you go back one level, you wind up in my online novel series and I have not put a link though to this bit yet!

Because different shots are filmed at different times means that the shot of max sat in the car approaching gyro could have been whilst the front was still on, you only see the interior, the scene where you see the actual car approach with the front missing was obviously done at another time.

Hey, jmu2000!

I checked out your site; it has the makings of something great. Its good to have another Mad Max site out there! Let us know when you update it.

I'm interested in the sticker set from the Japanese program. Is there any way you could e-mail me a full size image of the sickers? I would love to see all the details shown there. Please let me know.

Thanks! I'll do what I can for it as time permits (between the little things like work, eating, sleeping etc of course!).

The scan of the sticker page on the link above is actual size. I guess it must have been a freebie when it was issued but the images are interesting. If you would like an enlarged scan rather than the life size one available above, let me know.

As I understand it, this Dead Reckoning vehicle is from the movie "Lamd of the Dead" (or some Zombie movie or another)

I haven't seen it and have tried to find stills of it to no avail.

As for the Still.

I think it is a dress-rehersal still.

Mel looks like he's listening to someone out of frame and maybe dissagreeing with what he hears or not understanding. "you want me to do WHAT?"

An update, I have just moved my Mad Max Memorabilia Archive site to a new bit of server space at http://www.jmupton2000.freeuk.com/

Also uploaded is a page with scans of the Japanese Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome booklet.

More to come as soon as my scanner has finished arguing with me!
