Hello, and a question about release versions.

Post by Sick Rick »

Well, well...I have someone going through boxes and boxes of tapes right now to see if I have it (dont want to wait till sunday)....I even have a few strange vhs vcr tapes bought at conventions a decade or so ago with the AU track that I am going to go through...odds are maybe 50/50 that I have that version. Talked to the old man, and HE remembers the scenes on a tape cause I was grounded too, so things look good (fingers crossed) If I find it, will rig a way to rip it to DVD and give copies out so that everyone has access to it and we can put this to bed once and for all:) Sick Rick

heya Sick Rick, I'd be interested in just getting a copy on tape, Beta or whatever as i would be happy to transfer it through some friends that have serious equipment and then pass it on to Peter and anyone else.

still hoping i have it...might have copies on tape, but not the right ones. Could have them and they could be trashed. Or could have them and their fine:) Still waiting to hear, have several family members looking as we speak. Problem is, I have hundreds of tapes. At least they are all labelled:) Will let everyone know as soon as I hear! If I do have them will probably need some help, so any will be appreciated, thanks guys! Sick Rick

Sick Rick let me introduce you to "Yoda" aka; Giro Captain.

Welcome back Capt we didn't miss you. Watch out Rick he's got a mean right hook.

Hope the search turns up that lost version tape. Count me in if you ever can get it onto a DVD.

Bad news first....Okay, all tapes labels looked at, and it's not there...But there is about 20 tapes that were on the bottom that the labels rotted off of. I'm gonna take them apart and see if the tape is still good. If it is, I dont mind sending them out for viewing (to someone with a beta,) if someone wants to look through them.

Now the good news.....I DO have two or three copies of MM on older vhs, one a copy, and one at least on a store bought copy from a rare film convention 15 or so years ago.

(media blasters) I'll be watching those on Sunday....maybe, just maybe.

If its out there I will find it, it might take time, but I will. Had this same problem with Halloween years ago. I KNEW there was lost footage, cause I had the daybill for it and went and saw it in the theater. Spent YEARS looking for it on vhs waaay before most people knew it existed. It took awhile, but I found it:)

Sure was easier when it was finally released on dvd....obsoleted the tape, just like that. All that time, damn.

On another note, is it possible it was a TV version to fill up the time slot due to cut scenes from back in the day? They used to do that kind of thing A LOT.

Sick Rick, I have an old beta that is in top shape. I bought it when that other guy was claiming to have a copy of the missing scenes. All that ever showed up was mark Scars tape which unfortunately was not what we were after (yes mark, I'll send it back some day)

The cool thing about running out and buying this Beta machine is that it's value has really increased.

email me off the board, I'll send the tapes out to have you see what you can do with em. Chances are good that MM is there on beta. Now, cut scenes? Don't know...but its worth checking.

Also, since I wont see how bad they are till Sunday, if I were you-I would NOT play it in your beta until YOU look at them, wouldn't want to screw up your heads:) (read as: not wanting to be responsible for damage)Rick.

But if you want em, I'll send em:)
