Kind of frustrating watching it on French TV yesterday since all the interviews were over dubbed in French which I only have the basic spattering of but I got the gist of what happened and felt homesick for the first time in that I wasn't there, at home, being an offended Brit. Kind of weird to think that I suppose.
My thoughts go out to the families of the victims and the surviors and also to those emergency services that took part in the clear up. Well done to one and all.... However I don't think is the end of it, despite the losses London got off relatively lightly when compared to New York, Madrid and Bali I think this is only a first of a series of attacks on mainland UK.
It's sooo frustrating too that these attacks are done with such cowardice, they know if faced on a one to one a soldier or such, they'd most likely lose so they choose the softer option and "fight" innocent joe public.
I hope they burn in hell whoever they are, Muslims fanatics or another cretinous group with a grudge.

Thanks for the thought, Bartoid. I don't think anyone was particularly suprised here. As Adrian said, it was a matter of time, an inevitability.
And, not meaning to sound insensitive, but compared to the boldness and determination of the Irish (firing mortars at Number 10, huge bombs in Brighton etc ), this is pretty pathetic really. I can't see this having any lasting effect, aside from, of course, the damage and trauma suffered by those at the scene.
Besides. London taan? Ol' Landan taan? It's been burned down, blown up and ravaged with disease and disaster for hundreds and hundreds of years. This is nothing. Nothing much, anyway.

As disgusted as I have always been with these events...Twin Towers etc...I have never had it brought home to me as much as this latest..
Whilst I am sunning myself here in Oz my fiance was working in offices just off Russell Square. She heard and felt the bus bomb.......And, having seen it on the news, all I could do was wait to hear from her..no landline or mobiles were working...
Maybe now some of the Human rights do-gooders will understand why we want tighter controls on who enters the country.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all those effected by yesterdays events, but it was only a matter of time before something like this happened.
As a famous Irish Copper once said "You can't beat terrorists ...because they play dirty"

Very true Tom, the IRA did something far worse over here in the 1960's it was dubbed 'Bloody Friday' they left bombs in bus stations all over Belfast timed to go off as people where catching buses to go home, scores where killed.
And where did the money for the explosives come from? "sympathisers" [/font]in America.

Well to me it seems from up here London is trying its best to get back to normal, people heading to work on the buses and tube this morning as usual. I doubt very much there would be another strike there so soon.
