Mad Max 4 and Thunderdome

Yeah, I think the movies could do pretty well as books, where people's histories are briefly gone over.

Like when I saw RW I thought that Humungus was a crime lord whose face got cut up bu another crime lord. Wes was his hitman. Papagallo was a police officer who had tried to take out the Lord Humungus, but now the Warrior of the Wasteland chose vengeance.

Eh Max, let's have a see-looks

i duno. the new action movies do suck. and most of the actors on screen at the time to. and a 4th mm movie would probably be ruined with computer made landscapes, and new generation "stunts" and new plastic made cars... maybe... just my opinion. and if they make a 4th movie, there probably would be a 5th one and so on... mad max vs a boy and his dog??? or something like that.

Good. That's probably the way it's going now

Road Warrior is the best of 'em all- hands down. I even prefer the name over "Mad Max 2". The "Road Warrior" movie trailer is far better than the MM 2 trailer- more action packed and more dark. I don't how many times I watched that trailer on this site. MM 1 is second best- I gave that one a 9 out of 10. Max stops with Road Warrior- a solid over flowing 10- for almost 20 years, RW was my favourite movie of all time. Its still on my top 10 list. Thunderdome was still good, save for the terrible fact that only two people got killed, the music wasn't as dark and the 'cave kids' (as I call them) should have been used for "The Flintstones". But, regardless, Thunderdome STILL had originality to it thus causing immitators to pop up. Take "Waterworld" for example. It was like Road Warrior on water in action whereas the visuals looked like that of Thunderdome. All 3 Mad Max films rate a 10 in originality.

I think I'd prefer to 'suffer' than endure seeing a bad Mad Max4 film if Hollywood gets their hands on it. I agree with the postings above in that Action films are all about one liners and special effects each trying to out do the other in spectacular CGI stunts. Those films that don't try and impress the audiences with stunning effects die a death or go straight to video and are avoided like leprosy when you see them on the shelves, just like those awful armageddon films Italy churned out in the 80's.

I don't have any hard and fast rule for MM4 but seeing it return back to it's roots in Aussieland might be a viable solution. I know everyone one and his dog wants the NZ & Aussie film industry to be part of their films in light of the success of the Matrix and Lord of the Rings. So perhaps that might be a good basis if you want a gritty type of film rather than a Goonies remake Hollywood would turn out. An Aussie would turn out a far better film because there's national pride connected with it as well as the cash element.

On an aside here I'm currently watching Lost; The disappeared on French TV, it's over dubbed in French of course, but what begun as a exciting survival adventure programme seems to have slid into an analysis of the characters and thier past faults. I'm not sure I want to watch the next episodes. Every 15 mins you get teased with russling trees expecting a T-rex or something burst out to remind you it's an adventure programme then it cuts to a pregnant woman fainting and everyone wondering who stole the water. If this is an example of what constitutes as an action film series than MM4 would be a huge turkey indeed.

Hey Tom that remix recut version of Thunderdome you're fiddling with sounds interesting care to share your story line?

A comic of Mad Max would be excellant but I'd miss that roar of the engines.

Basically the remix version of Thunderdome is called

"Mad Max Beyond No Tomorrow". Its basically Thunderdome with a more serious edge. Alot of the scenes with the 'cave kids' are cut short. Max is more of an asshole. He kills Blaster and Tina double crosses him infront of everyone. The opening title sequence is of the colours yellow and gold. And most of all, Tina Turner's f**king singing is SLASHED from the film. I haven't been able to do too much cutting of the film because of my job- basically I'm up at 5AM and am home at 7PM.

9 inch--- I'm with you, I am a die-hard Max fan, but the story was over when the Interceptor died. At least she went "Out in a Blaze of Glory". I wouldn't have minded seeing the Interceptor being pulled by camels and converted to methane! Pray there is another Interceptor out there......somewhere.....

Hey 04GInterceptor you're signature is rather ironinc in light of the words in your postings don't you think?

"Would have been a shame to blow it up"... went out in a blaze of glory

and

"Last of the V8 Interceptors"... pray there is another Interceptor out there.

I know what you're saying though just thought i'd point out some glaring paradoxes is all LOL!

In light of reading the posting above about Wez killing the V8. I actually harbor no ill feeling towards him perhaps since he got his comeuppence later in the film by meeting Humungeous so dramatically. But it was a shame to see the V8 die, even in a blaze of glory. The name Mad Max is synonimous with the big black V8 perhaps that's why Blunderdome didn't make the impact it could have despite the other obvious failings such as Hollywood putting it's big heafty Parental Guidance stamp all over it.

Here's a thought what about another time line aspect of the film?... a Mad Max 3. One in which he escapes Wez and the V8 survives, with the big tanks and Max stashes the loaded V8 in an empty valley, camouflages it, rendevous with the Gyro Captain who takes him back to the compound. Then the film carrys on a we know it, but, after wrecking the tanker he then hikes back to where he left the car, where he finds dog happyily munching on the dead kangaroo he thoughtfuly left him and drives off into the sunset to wander the wasteland. hmmmm?

Maybe not?

Biker---Ha Ha.....lol I like your idea of hiding the Interceptor. It has come up here a few times and also in some fan-fiction, about maybe there were more Interceptors built for other MFP divisions. Maybe Max could find one that was left over, or maybe find one not yet completed......and so the story could continue with a Interceptor.
