?

geek?

Like Max simply because it identifies with how I feel, boiling mixture of bafflement with the world combined with an independent survival streak and a fascination with cars, BIKES, two fingers attitude to the world. Who needs it? Don`t think this makes me a geek, maybe looney or nutcase but please not geek, these collect stamps and spot trains while wearing anoraks.......

sh*t REDD, i called us MAD MAX GEEKS a couple years ago, and everyone agree'd heartily, i could just hear the rapid nodding all the way down here.

aye , you know the definition of GEEK though? - its a Circus freak who bites the heads off chickens, isn't that funny, when the hell did it become 'dork' or 'fanatic'? Image

In a strict sense:

Main Entry: geek

Pronunciation: 'gEk

Function: noun

Etymology: probably from English dialect geek, geck fool, from Low German geck, from Middle Low German

1 : a carnival performer often billed as a wild man whose act usually includes biting the head off a live chicken or snake

2 : a person often of an intellectual bent who is disapproved of

- geeky /'gE-kE/ adjective

What makes us geeks, is not our feeling of oneness with Max, no, our 'geek'-ness is found in our willingness to pore over and over-analyze every little bit of Max-ian minutae. Having the exactly correct fireman's tools in our costume belt. Wondering about burnout marks. Being all consumed with the paradox of Bruce Spence apparently being two people in the same fictional universe (or are they?). Trying to decide if the story is better as told by the movies, with the attendant omissions of historical detail, or attempting to reconcile the background given in the novelisations unavailable in this country with what we thought we could assume from the movies.

That is what puts us on that overpass in an anorak gawking at locomotives.

Before anyone thinks I'm coming down on anyone, remember, I am here and you have read my posts. And, most importantly.....I have had sex. There is hope, you know.

I like Detritus' way of putting it. He makes some sense...

I am quite confused though.

I also have had sex. It is a good thing.

However, I also have an anorak. Is this a paradox? Or does the fact that the anorak is in a '90's desert camoflage pattern make it ok?

Mitch

P.S. Thanx Redd4 for the endorsement. Wasn't sure if anyone else comprehended my babblings... I've seen some good points from a lot of people.

But the anorak thing has me worried. I don't particularly like trains...

For most of us, Max is about plausible connection. We see ourselves or perhaps what we would hope to be emulating Max's action in times of crisis.......

Max is about what truely lies underneath when all of Mans worldy possession are stripped away..........and surely enough............ goodness and honor prevails..

While geeks connect to the fantasy of a fictional subject, fanaticals connect with the realism. Our concern for fact and rejection of the impractical and visionary is a doctrine that universally exists in the frantic.

The conception, that an abstract Max world is an independent and unitary reality of sensory perception or cognition, exists independently of our first world mind. Miller's work is fidelity in art. His genius is accurate representation without idealization.

I have had sex but wasn`t wearing an anorak at the time.

If geeks bite the heads off snakes then unky will be upset in his reincarnation as snake, since he`s gotta bite his own head off to show he`s a geek, after which he is no longer unky.

Think it`s time to throw on the video and check what fruit aunty was eating,
