The Punisher

I saw this movie about 3 weeks ago, and i tell ya, it was the first time in history, that i have ever FFWD. a movie i've never seen before. i cannot believe how crap it was, i mean come on, it was like it had been made in like 87' or something, with characters, and scenes, like the ones involving those two next door neighbours.

christ, don't get me started on the scene cross cutting them, with the Russian hitman.

This movie sucked, plane and simple.

Oh and i can't believe he ran up to his dead family holding a rifle, like someone else we know, sh*t i was waiting for a quick shot to follow, of an ambulance flying past the camera, with dark clouds, and thunder in the sky.

Typical comment from a obvious non Punisher fan,Rock you gotta read the comic and yes the movie had its flaws,and must like Mad Max was ,The Punisher was made on a budget.i'm sure there are those out there who just watched Mad Max on tv and said what an utter piece of sh*t film it was but then again they prob. weren't fans.as for The Punisher i am a HUGE fan of the comic book charactor so much so i have the skull tatoo'd on my left forearm,and i collect anything i can Punisher wise.Also Tom Jane who played the role of Frank Castle researched his role thoroughly and touched base with other Fans to make sure he would do a good job and he did one much better than what actor Dolph Lungren did in the 89 version.The Punisher comic charactor has been around since 1974 and his wife and kids being murdered was the reason he became a Vigilante so tho it may look similar to the plot of Mad Max ,its flows the same way your typical 'revenge'movie plays out.Rock yer still my homie but i get a hair pissed when people bash The punisher and the film which i dug and cannot wait for part 2 which thier hard at work on a script as we speak and the movie should be loads more violent and better than the first and should be out in 2006.Look for the Punisher game next month which will aslo have Tom Jane doing the voice work in that as well.

First off, I have NOT seen this movie, but I probably wont after hearing what I've heard *weep*

Big Bop, are you not even remotely annoyed that someone, somewhere, for whatever reason, copied Mad Max and added a few differences? That was some important person's full contribution to The Punisher. Someone must have actually sat about and, instead of giving The Punisher the distinction it deserves by using their own ideas - and stay with me here - they just sat about and watched Mad Max, jotting down notes and adapted the ideas. That's all they did.

Don't get me wrong, I think The Punisher comics were wicked, but I cannot abide films which obviously and mindlessly copy existing films. Its no honour for a film be anally raped like this, its just rots the original product. Kids who haven't seen MM will probably love the "ideas" in The Punisher and look with reduced interest at MM when they see it. I often wonder how many people see Waterworld before RW and think to themselves "say, this film's a direct copy of Waterworld! What a load of crap!" And turn off in stubborn disgust.

For me, this is another film which I'd been looking forward to, with my little stomach full of butterflies, only to discover that, somewhere between the start and finish of filming, someone's managed to make it sh*t.

MT,your right and that was the directors fault for throwing wayy to many other movie simalarities in the Punisher i too was kinda miffed about that but since i read the comic some references i.e the Russian and the fake torching the bad guy scene and the Apartment and the charactors living in it were taken directly out of certain issues of The Punisher comics i'm sure that Punisher 2 will be more dark and more straight out of the comic book as i heard rumors that there will be the charactor 'Jigsaw'as Franks nemesis.But dude..DO watch the film,i'm sure you'll find some parts you'll like don't damn it entirely becuase of a few Mad Max ripoff scenes i mean You give Max a horse instead of a BoB and you have 'The Outlaw Josey Wales'in movies you can always get away with some simaler scenes but not too many which i agree the Punsiehr movie stubbornly did so.

Yeah, trust me BART, i know how it feels to love something so much and have someone bash it, just cause it don't mean to them, what it means to you.

HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES - I had been waiting for this movie for 5 years, not just the movie, but the theme (getting back to basics, f**king off 'safe HORROR', and making it dangerous again), and when i saw it , i believed (hear me out), that it was made for ME, seriously, i thought "jesus ROB, you've peeked inside my head, and had a look around, and found what i've been searching for" Hell, i was even so possessive of it, that i didn't even want anyone else watching it, i wouldn't dub it for friends, i'd promised i would, i wouldn't keep it out on my lounge shelf, cause didn't want anyone touching it, or knowing it existed.

So when the movie came up, negatively on the TERROR AUSTRALIS - HORROR FORUM, i'm a member of, i just lost it, i was so protective of it, i didn't get back on the FORUM for a week, cause i was so angry, with them. - so i see where ya coming from, trust me, - if you go try and source the original WEZ VERSUS IRONBAR thread, i mean the beginning of it before it got cut down for space, you'll see my first Post on there, fiercely protecting WEZ, from all this sh*t everyone was dishing on him, cause i was just as protective of him, ever since i was 6 years old.

But, i do think the actual PUNNISHER guy, was ok. he certainly looked the part, But the movie around him, just ruined it all - and that blatant almost identicle shot from MAD MAX, was to obvious.

I dug house of a thousand corpses,Capt. Spaulding was the sh*t :)Like the Punisher tho there were a few glaring ripoffs from a certain movie about a chainsaw weilding maniac LOL btw whens part 2 coming out?i heard about it bieng made.

Yeah, man, ofcourse it rips off all inds of cool Horror's, luckily, they're all Horror's i like, so its aloud too

It rips TEXAS CHAINSAW. , it borrows heavily from CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD (GATES OF HELL to you yanks) - MOTEL HELL, BLOOD DINER. you name it. The sequel - THE DEVILS REJECTS, is due out early next year, from what i've seen of it, and heard, its gonna be pretty original, and 10 times badder, no more of this crazy, smutty comedy, its mean as hell, nothing to laugh about.

But a REMAKE, PONY? uuum, na. not intentionally anyway.

I watched it once, but am by no means a horror buff. So I didnt really know, I had thought i had heard somewhere that zombie had bascially been doing a remake of an older horror movie.
