I watched 'Ronin' for the first time last night and the chase through Paris with the BMW and the Peugeot was absolutely stunning, especially the bit when they are on the wrong side of the road inside the 'Princess of Wales' tunnel.

I don't know if the stunts were arranged by the famous French 'Remy Julienne' stunt team or not, but it seems quite likely due to the film's location and the fact that some of the stunts are very RJ-esque i.e. the DAF lorry on two wheels.

What I do know is that the film was directed by the same guy who directed 'The French Connection'. You can tell by the car chases!

Apparently the main actors actually drove the cars themselves in the chase scenes, which is why they look so scared behind the wheel. They were told not to crash the cars into brick walls, and that they were not to light up the brake lights when they were driving! Hairy stuff!

somebody baught this up before - a favourite car chases in movies thread, and i said it in that one, and i'll say it again.

ABEL FERRARA's KING OF NEWYORK, has the coolest car chase you will ever see.

CHRISTOPHER WALKEN driving a Limo at top speed through the streets with LAWRENCE FISHBURNE's psychopathic character sticking out the sunroof firing two BERETTA's at three cop cars chasing them, with WESLEY SNIPES and DAVID CARUSO in one of those cars firing back just as rapidly, its unbelievable.

actually speaking of WESLEY SNIPE's, its a pity we never saw BLADE's CHARGER in any action, it just rumbled through the streets at about 70 miles.
