I did watch the movie, it's a horror film. I haven't seen the sequel, are there explosions and car chases in it?
Terminator 2 is quite a good example, though there's only 1 female character with more than a line or two.
Serenity and Starship Troopers I'd have said are more Sci Fi than action, but they are reasonable examples.
So we have two films that are from the 1990s, and one that's what, 10 years old now? And of those only one is an all-out action movie, which doesn't pass the Bechdel test.
You're really trying to narrow the scope in order to make the dubious point that there's some fictitious shortage of girl power action heroines [are we still allowed to call them that?]. Leaving out the utterly saturated badass female videogame character movie market even, there are still plenty of examples as to why this is not a unique role for Charlize Theron **cough-Hancock-cough**, much less the movie industry.
"Two days ago, I saw a vehicle that would haul that tanker. You want to get out of here? You talk to me."
I didn't say there was a shortage of those, I gave reasons for why this is seen as a feminist friendly film.
I asked for examples of other films like Fury Road. Furiosa is indeed an ass-kicking woman, but it's the Wives, Vuvalini, and Max and Nux who make it feminist friendly.
