Re: News on the Fury Road sequel: "The Wasteland" !!!
Well the original plan was Furiosa to be shot back-to-back with Fury Road as I remember. I wonder whether the two scripts just fused together, which would explain why Furiosa has such a big part to play in this one. I cant really see where her character has to go now. She won. She is the leader of the Citadel. The leaders of the Bulletfarm and Gastown are also dead. Whilst a prequel would be fine it would be spoilt by knowing how she ends up. Mad Max: Wasteland is a great name for a sequel but cant help thinking this is all a bit back to front...Anyway, who cares, i'm going to continue to enjoy this one before I worry to much about something i wont see for another 5 years! Going to see it again for the third time tonight...in 2D for the first time.

My feeling is that they shot a longer film than final, and that at one point MIller shortened the film and thus the Furiosa prequel idea was born.
Plus, didn't Hardy said that the first half hour was supposed to retell the MM1 & 2 story? I smell that at least 30mn have disappeared right there. It all feels like it's starting straight to act two, skipping the first act.

I thought he was talking about how you can fit the action in the two movies in the first half hour.Stamper wrote:My feeling is that they shot a longer film than final, and that at one point MIller shortened the film and thus the Furiosa prequel idea was born.

There was a green screen picture of Max with his dog, very low res, posted here a couple of years back -- It's not in the film apparently. Perhaps part of a longer flashback to his origin?

Yeah. Did we get an ultimate director's cut Blu ray version of Fury Road with all that?Stamper wrote:There was a green screen picture of Max with his dog, very low res, posted here a couple of years back -- It's not in the film apparently. Perhaps part of a longer flashback to his origin?

There was articles of a dog being used in a flashback of when people are blaming Max for the loss of life. There needs to be an Extended version. I don't care if it's 3 hours longer !!!

The dog shown like the other flashback... I know they did something like that but it's hard to imagine...

Were the scenes in the preview, a year ago ?
I'm wondering if Miller mixed footage from the originals, with new shots of Hardy as Max driving in between, but then changed his mind as it retconned Mel out of existence.
