so far it does seem the comics and game are integrating the old and new as one series, it is still unclear when Fury Road happens but may be be easier to figure out after more of the story is revealed, if you read just the first comic it starts to become clear how all of it can work very well together without any contradictions. I would advise people to keep an open mind about this as the story evolves. I mean if you want to just consider it an all new thing, then go for it. but if you want to incorporate all 4 it is not that hard to believe.

Really DG? This is brilliant if so...I always wanted the movies to connect, a remake even if it was the same director was always slightly disappointing.

George Miller himself said it was not a reboot.

Without giving too much away from the comics, what are the things that make FR definitely part of the series as a whole??

basically it is more about the things in Fury Road that make it seem disconnected, first his car was destroyed but now he has it in FR, this is supposed to be explained in the video game or comic or both. Then there is the fact that he sees these new characters saying "you let me die" and it isnt Sprog, Jesse, Goose, or even Dog, but instead is Glory the Child, some old guy named Chumbucket, and others we have never seen. The next issue is Furiosa #1 and will tell how she was kidnapped from the green place and became the imperator. But then the final two issues in the series are Mad Max 1 and 2 that are not out yet but are supposed to tell who these dead people were that haunt max. And in the telling of Immortan Joe's origin the story very much resembles the world from the first two movies and even shows the MFP as seen in the thread about the comics....so so far that is it. The main problem is max's age and the length of time needed to take place in between does not seem to make sense at all.

Yeah, that's what I think; the MFP and by extension Max's tenure with them surely still belonged to the preapocalypse times which are decades before Fury Road surely, could the world have degenerated to that extent in a shorter timeframe?

Chumbucket is Max's sidekick from the Mad Max game, AFAIK he doesn't appear in the movie flashbacks as some old guy. I'd like to be proven wrong though, so if you have source of that info I'd like to have a look at it (there's no mention of Chumbucket on movie's IMDB page)

Chumbucket was in the movie flashbacks? I never noticed.

For anyone that doesn't know (unlikely but anyway heh), Chumbucket is the guy from the game that hangs out with you and throws the harpoon and stuff, and he's deformed, and I don't think he's old, and I'm confused now :).

I guess he's in the comics too, right?

at the beginning there is an old black dude and an old woman, they are credited as "the accusing dead", i thought the old dude might be chumbucket after reading something on the web about the upcoming comics, but after learning more i dont think that the accussing dead is chumbucket any more. but i think they do explained in the comic who they are. and chumbucket may be in the comic but is a different character, sorry my bad
