I work for a global company that gets regularly pitched by the movie studios to 'cross market' our business with upcoming movies. In short, the studios hope to get part of our television advertising budget in change for 'hype' for the latest movie release. Burger King and McDonald's have similar programs.
Our VP of Marketing said that he has seen almost every studio release list for the next 16 months. Mad Max isn't on any of the new release lists he has seen.

The Warners themselves probably haven't assigned a release date yet. It was a long, difficult shoot and it would've gone longer but they stepped in and got it back on track. Of course, now all the post-production work has to be done and I'm sure that will be dragged on longer than planned too.Anklecranker wrote:Our VP of Marketing said that he has seen almost every studio release list for the next 16 months. This site should host a contest and whoever guesses closest to the actual release date wins the Blu-Ray Trilogy boxed set.
You will ride eternal, shiny and chrome!

Our marketing team is keen to see the release date too. I should have insight in the near future.

It will be quite interesting to see the cross marketing of Fury Road. I have no doubt they will market it to a younger age group than whatever it's rating. I am sure they will slap the logo and name on every conceivable piece of merchandise they can, little of which will have anything to do with the film. However this should increase the chances of an assortment of figures, vehicles, and other things that ARE related to the film. I just hope we get quality vehicles not just something they slap black paint on and call 'Mad Max'.

This movie must be released in 2013. I mean come on.
Re: release date grrrrrrrrrr
Going with a side of optimism the only things we really know about Fury Road's release is that it'll be an IMAX 3D release and won't be released within the first and second quarters (Jan-June) of 2013, the latter comes from the Village 12 month report where they say Fury Road and other future releases would follow the Great Gatsby which drops in May 2013.
So again, with optimism, I'm hoping they'll pin something like a November release down but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

One of out local tv stations had a story saying FR had a 2014 release date. The Tom Hardy as Max pic was used. There was no autograph, so I don't know if it was photoshopped out, or it was another copy of the pic.
larger than life and twice as ugly

This was posted in several Australian newspapers.
