He just did the score for 300: Rise of an Empire as well. I just listened to his work on the Paranoia soundtrack and I have to say I like the music. Never figured on an Electronica score for MMFR. Always figured on it being a more traditional orchestration, but this could work well. I trust that Miller knows what he's doing with this somewhat unusual choice.

He's collaborated with Hans Zimmer quite a bit to the point I think he's learned a lot, not to mention he was also co-responsible for one of the best tracks on the Man of Steel score titled "Arcade".

I like the choice and I think it's more favorable than Beltrami or Young. That said post seems to be moving quite well given the upcoming filming next month that I'm still hopeful for a release next year.

Sadly the Playlist is sourcing ManlyMovie.net or something who I'm pretty sure must lurk these boards given they took the info I posted about the 27 kids being auditioned and Junkie XL and soon after posted the "news", so not quite confirmed just yet.

Yep. That's exactly what happened. Anyway, JXL pretty much confirmed it in his tweet. Looking around, there appears to be mixed feelings. Some think Miller is going for the Fast & Furious crowd with this pick. Others like the experimental nature of his artistry.

Junkie XL was well known here for his music. (a style to which I don't listen any more for years now) But the last few years, or even longer, you don't hear that much about him any more. Probably because he is more busy with making those movie scores and producing. But it could also be I don't hear his name any more because I'm not interested any more in that style of music.
"UNDERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" is how far you take the fence with you.

No electronic beats.... #furyroad #madmax #filmscoring

Heartening. Nevertheless, the more I listen to the music he wrote for film, the less I like this choice. Exactly on what basis did Miller pick him? I've read Snyder chose him for "300: Rise of an Empire" because he liked JXL's work on "Man of Steel". Did Miller do the same? Was the decision based on his "300" music, which we have yet to hear? And what prompted Miller to go from a more traditional, veteran film composer like John Powell (who was once attached to this) to an unconventional newbie who has but one film score under his belt?

Well to be fair Brian May only had some TV work and one feature before doing Mad Max...Everyone deserves a shot. Junkie XL has been working and collaborating with Hans Zimmer and proteges for years so he'll be great.

I think this kind of hard edged tech sound is perfectly suited to Fury Road , I used Cubanate as the sound track to my Fury Road Vehicles videos on YouTube and they have been popular with the punters with more than a few commenting that the music would suit Mad Max , as much as I would love a soundtrack done by Motorhead and AC/DC , I think Miller is trying for a wider audience
