I'm actually a bit surprised the voice thing is getting this much coverage. If it's anything like the movies, Max won't be having a lot to say anyway...!

I just hope if the petition succeeds, they get a decent Australian voice actor to do it. Do we have any decent voice actors? i.e. people who could voice a game of this nature, not the typical over-acted rubbish that gets done here, with 'CRIKEY!' thrown in every second word.

Usually what happens is that you get a regular voice actor trying to do an Australian accent, which would be worse than what they're doing now. I'm yet to hear ANY non-Australian actor correctly do an Australian accent. It's hilarious watching major big name stars attempt it from time to time. Usually they think they're making a pretty good job of it, but to an Australian ear, they're terrible.

A pity we don't have much of a video game industry here any longer. A pity also that one of the local game houses that once tried to get a Mad Max game up once upon a time never got it over the line with the licensing. Would have made an interesting comparison at this point.

this reminds me of the hate many have for the american dub of Mad max 2. with all due respect I like the american dubbed humongus to me he sounds more menesing in the american dub then in the australian original. but then again I get shit for not making the movie cars for american games have right hand drive. I get told I am "americanizing" their beloved franchise when little do they know that we tried to make the gta models all right hand drive and were or are unable to due to the limits of the game itself. the player models would just phase through the doors.

I do understand how much this movie means to Australia. I do. but to be,at times, shut out because I am american as if I want to steal your wonderful franchise and ruin it. that's just not true and it's just not fair. I have just as much right to love these movies as you do.

that said it wouldn't really bug me so much either way. if they do recast and re-record the lines in a true australian accent then great. but if not then I'm sorry I am not going to storm the gates. I mean this is such a new territory as it is. because this isn't the mad max game that was being made to promote fury road. (infact no one seems to know what happened to that game which is odd.) this isn't a game written by miller. and it's not ment to be cannon really in any time period to the movies. it's it's own thing. it may have the mad max title and car but I mean you more pissed about the accent then the type of interceptor and it's accuracy in the game. just seems so nit picky to me like the voice of the humongus topic above. can't we just enjoy this for what it is?

Release dates announced on Amazon.com.

April 30, 2014 on Xbox One, 360, PC and PS3:

December 31, 2014 (!!!) on PS4:

Is this real (PS4 game release date) or a typo? Weird...

This seems to strongly indicate an April release date for Mad Max 4: Fury Road.

It would be stupid to release a game 1 week AFTER Christmas.

Agreed, though if the Dec 31 date is unreliable, the April 30 date may be as well. Like the PS4 date, the XBox One date is the last day of the month, and a Wednesday.

Looking at the movie schedule for April/May, there's a gap in WB releases between Transcendence on April 18 and Godzilla on May 16. Splitting the difference would put it at May 2. The only other significant release on that date is The Amazing Spiderman 2, and I suppose FR could be good counter-programming if it's a serious, adult-oriented action movie. Yet to me it doesn't seem to be the kind of movie WB would use to kick off the Summer blockbuster season. Then again, the Summer is pretty tight elsewhere, not to mention the World Cup in June will eat into the international box office.

So glad it's coming to the 360! I'm going to put off buying a next-gen console for a considerable length of time. Why is it so hard to get an Australian voice actor, or for that matter why couldn't they set the game in Australia? I mean, the only difference between their generic desert and Australia is pretty much the name so why not change it?

I am so not surprised by this and expected it to happen. It just seemed like a really easy way for them to generate goodwill with fans who act as a free extension for their marketing later on.

Thank God they're now doing the right thing!

;) Of course, this could have been the plan all along, who knows? ;)

I see they are making sure that mad max has an aussie voice actor. as I said I could care less either way but I do get why it's so important to you all. so good for us all in the end. congrats this game can comense with more accurate actor voicing the main character. hopefully you'll all support it cause maybe this can lead to mad max becoming a money making gaming franchise. maybe we can get good movie like titles based loosely off the movies we all know and love.
