Re: Reboot vs Pre/Sequel Discussion
I would say OFFICIALLY it's a "loose" sequel ala Superman Returns set after Thunderdome.
(to me it's a parallel dimension).

I'm 100% convinced it's a reboot.

Any of you seen the Thing reboot/remake/rewhatever?
That's what Fury Road is going to be in my mind. Old trilogy thrown into a grinder and shaped into a new story.

At last the Vermin had inherited the Earth
Re: Reboot vs Pre/Sequel Discussion
It appears to me that its an alternate sequel to the first film going by the formula of Max wandering the wasteland.

Whatever Fury Road turns out to be,
I find it hard to believe with the single tank Interceptor,
jacket, Hardy's beard, that were not gonna get a few flashbacks..

Re: Reboot vs Pre/Sequel Discussion
as stated in previous threads. it's officially billed as a "re-imaging" but that's as far as anyone will say on the production side of things. no one has offically come out to say it's a reboot as well as no one has offically come out to say it's a sequel. so in a way this topic is moot without comformation.

It was officially a prequel and never deviated from the story about what happened to the Norwegian camp they found abandoned in the original movie.Taipan wrote:Any of you seen the Thing reboot/remake/rewhatever?

Re: Reboot vs Pre/Sequel Discussion
you guys are looking at this all sideways with this prequel reboot argument. it won't be either one.
GM is going to take the best and most popular movie, RW, and make a movie that resembles that one, but also tries to top it with even more action/destruction and other unrelated story elements which have been discussed here already, 5 wives, the mutations, etc.

I think this is the very definition of a reboot.highfatalityroad wrote:you guys are looking at this all sideways with this prequel reboot argument. it won't be either one.
