Could be lots of reasons..remember the Warner's sent out a representative when the shooting got behind schedule. Maybe they dropped a few night scenes in the desert and said "we'll just shoot them when we get to CT".

Plus, there's always reshoots, rewrites, etc. This is kind of a bad sign as if it is rewrites then that means they're not happy with everything they've got in the can so far. Not that we should really worry as we're just so damn excited there will be another Mad Max movie.

Eaton plays Fragile, one of five wives belonging to bad guy Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne, who also had a role in the first Mad Max).

So Immortan Joe's 5 wives are for breeding.
Pure bloodline breeding...

Charlize? Is that you?
BIÉNNE HUISMAN | 09 December, 2012 00:02

Interior designer and mother Nadia le Roux has relished walking in Charlize Theron's dusty boots.

She also got to wear the leading lady's leather pants while working as the stand-in for Theron's character, Furiosa, during filming of Mad Max 4: Fury Road.

Le Roux, 29, was hired for two weeks to pose as Theron in scenes for the Australian action movie, which is being filmed in Swakopmund, Namibia, and at Cape Town Film Studios.

On set she exchanged greetings with British actor Tom Hardy - who has appeared in RocknRolla and played the evil Bane in The Dark Knight Rises. Hardy replaces Mel Gibson in the title role.

Le Roux also fooled around with Zoë Kravitz, daughter of singer Lenny; Riley Keough, the granddaughter of Elvis Presley; and Transformers actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

"Basically, as Charlize's stand-in, my job was to do all her movements before she arrived on set, so that the equipment is ready and adjusted when she gets there," said Le Roux.

"For example, I would put on goggles and hold a rifle as she would, so they can check the lighting and see how to fit the props into a frame."

Le Roux is about 1.8m tall and Theron 1.77m. "Apart from our height, our measurements are very similar. One day I even had to wear Charlize's leather pants and boots," she said.

Le Roux said interaction between shoots was governed by a strict social hierarchy.

"There's a pecking order. I couldn't just go to the actors and talk to them but, if they approached me, it was OK to respond.

"Not just anyone would approach the big-name actors like Charlize or Tom for a chat."

The brunette beauty wrapped up filming late on Wednesday, after featuring in a gruelling sandstorm scene.

"There was a huge fan with sand blowing everywhere ... the vehicle was shaking and it really was quite frightening."

Theron made headlines when she shaved her hair for the film. Le Roux was asked to do the same but refused, and the movie bosses relented.

She was appointed Theron's stand-in just two days after her engagement to sales rep Gareth Nel. "It's such a happy time for us," Le Roux said. "My fiancé just loves my hair, so I asked the film's people if I could please keep it."

Nel was allowed on the set on Wednesday. He said: "Initially, they said no family, but we managed to get a visitor's pass on the very last day."

Le Roux grew up in the fishing village of St Helena Bay on the West Coast.

Her father, Pieter, was a mechanic at a seafood factory and her mother, Karen, managed the local hotel.

She matriculated at Augsburg Landbougimnasium in Clanwilliam and has a five-year-old daughter, Karelize, from a previous marriage.

The brunette beat hundreds of Theron-wannabes just weeks after joining S&L Model Scouts in Brackenfell, Cape Town.

Agency owner Lizelle Meyer told how she had persuaded Le Roux to sign with the company.

"Nadia brought her little girl, Karelize, to register with our agency. We were in awe of how beautiful Nadia was herself, so I convinced her to register as well. Two weeks later she went to meet with the assistant director of Mad Max and was confirmed on the movie."

Le Roux took a fortnight off from her interior design job to double for Theron.

The modelling agency also provided three male actors who featured as "war boys" in the movie.

One of them, Jean Freysen, 24, from Brackenfell, said he still had carpet burns after filming.

"The war boys live to fight and to die in glory," he said.

"We were made up for about an hour before filming, where fake scars and loads of sores were applied. We did a lot of action scenes ..."

Both Le Roux and Freysen were impressed by the baddie, Nathan Jones.

Jones was sentenced to 16 years in prison for eight armed robberies before he turned to professional wrestling and eventually acting in Australia. He famously fought Brad Pitt's character, Achilles, in the film Troy.

Freysen said: "Nathan Jones is a huge guy, we were all actually very scared of him! But he was really friendly and ate with us regular people in the common tent. He did have, like, two plates of food at a go."

Now that filming is over, Le Roux's next quest is to get her Christmas shopping done.

But, she said: "Nothing will be as exciting as this movie again."

Totally missed this article in the Republikein of 7 December.
Mad Max's gossip about coastal towns.

At Henties Bay members of the film team working on Mad Max 4: Fury Road openly slander about neighbouring towns. There are also expressions of doubts if the involved film makers will return to Namibia for a follow-up image in the Mad Max series as reported earlier.

It is known that the makers of the Mad Max film love the Hentiesbaai area and resort's people very much. This is one of the reasons for the team's semi-permanent basis after the Uis-turn on the salt road to the north.

During filming, many of the members of the crew made use of the houses of Hentiesbaai for temporary residence. Some places with accommodations where fully booked for periods of up to a month. Except for a single incident near the end there where no problems with the team at the resort.

In chats with people of Hentiesbaai it was openly declared that Hentiesbaai is preferred over Swakopmund. They have openly claimed that Swakopmund has exploited them with ridiculous prices for housing. Problems with the Namibian film industry is identified as another disturbing factor.

It is also known that the film crew of Mad Max is significantly behind on schedule. Bad weather is given as a reason for that. Accordingly, it is openly claimed that the Mad Max team will be back in Namibia for the final recordings of Fury Road early next year. And then it is apparently done with Namibia.

I had to edit the English google translation very heavily. Translate.google made a mess of it.
The last sentence is a bit doubt full.
Even in Afrikaans it is hard to say what they exactly mean.
If they are 'done with Namibia' or 'done in Namibia'.
The first one is the proper translation.

Edit:
Also saw this article of 29-11-2012.

It is about one of the actors of MM4, Iota, who plays Coma-Doof Warrior. Credited last.
He's also an artist who made some big paintings inspired by the countryside of Namibia.
He's keeping an art exhibition in the gallery of Art Stop Namibia at Swakopmund at the moment from December 8 to January 31.
The money he raises will go to the Eagle Christian Home orphanage in Mondesa, Swakopmund.

There was an article a while back with an interview of one of the producers who also stated they would be filming the sequels "back home". I can't find the link for it but I swear I read it. That article you linked points towards it looking like they wont go back to Namibia if they will do more movies.

Perhaps barren desert isn't necessary for sequels, or they expect Broken Hill to finally dry out...

In any case it would be nice to see more civilization-oriented Max (aka something between MM1 & 2). Some sort of toned-down Western story with muscle cars.
FR currently definitely seems to be the mega-spectacle, which is not bad in itself... It's just that smaller, more rational tales appeal to me and sadly I'm (30's male) not primary audience for big studios. So yeah, then bring on postapocalyptic Pirates of Ben Hur. :D

They probably came to the conclusion paying the extra money for a CGI'ed landscape would be less painful than dealing with greedy locals.
