Could this be the first known photo of Tom stepping into his "Max" role...

He certainly looks ragged. Who is the guy on the right, any ideas?

I think he's a really interesting choice. A good actor that can do the physical stuff. My only concern is that he will look too powerful physically but he obviously bulked up for Bronson and Bane, he looks very natural there.

I know the film isn't about fist fights but if I imagine him in Mad Max for example, he could throw Toecutters gang around for fun lol. It shouldn't matter and I'm sure it won't, just it's the wasteland, where would he get the protein shakes? lol.

Unbelievable!... More than two months into the actual production of the movie, we don't have a picture -even a blurry one, from a namibian paparazzi...- of Max Rockatansky. I'm really amazed... I remember, back in 2007, like, say, 15 days after the start of shooting of Indy 4, Spielberg revealed a pic of his hero. Recently we had pics of the new Jack Ryan after a couple of days of shooting... Thor also in Thor: The Dark World... Today in Toronto, Robocop in the middle of the first day of shooting!! (Ok, those are shootings into urban sets, minus Thor I think)... but nothing for Max. Back in early july, I was so sure to have this particular pic within the first two or three weeks of production

George Miller is doing something truly amazing, I think, to be so secretive (personaly, i don't read anything about vehicles, I don't want to know... but I want to see Max!) about his hero's look in Fury Road. Unless the namibian paparazzis completely don't care about this kind of scoop

but I doubt it...

WB Ninjas on the prowl methinks. Honestly though I'm also surprised we haven't had 1 official publicity still released but then it took them over a month to officially announce the FR had started filming, although I gather that was a response to all the leaks set photos of the cars.

They've had the press out there to the set so only a matter of time I guess....

Yeah. Sure something will come out soon. It was the same with Man Of Steel, pictures came out almost as soon as they got him in costume.

Depends in what order they're shooting the film. If they're doing a lot of the stunt work and driving sequences first then he will be spending most his time in a car or not needed lol.

Maybe that's the reason they are filming it THERE?

Just saw Hardy in "Lawless." He was the best part of the film. Funny, powerful, very restrained. I could really see him as Max. One thing that I hope about the new film is that Max has little dialog like in RW. I feel that's one of the reasons that Gibson got so huge with that movie. He did everything with his body/face/eyes. Hardy can do this.
