The Book Of Eli .

Post by scummy »

G,day , i just finished watching a movie called , The Book Of Eli .It's about a guy who is heading west with a book in a land of post-apocalyptic wasteland and his journey to deliver the book to a destination he's not sure of but will know he's there when he gets there . It reminds me of mm3 but he has a purpose , it's a brilliant movie and which i liked and i recommend ya have a look at it .

I also recommend it. If you can get into the reason why he's lasted so long, it's a great movie.

I'd put The Postman before Eli.

There are so many plot holes in Eli.

I enjoyed Eli. I was relieved that they were able to avoid typical Hollywood plot devices. The ending had that I didn't see that coming effect reminiscent of "A boy and his Dog". I did find the the fact that there wasn't a huge gap in age between those that remembered the old world and those born to the new a bit odd. All in all it was a good entertainment.

I liked this movie, as well, and rate it far above The Postman.

Funny you mention A Boy and His Dog. If you look carefully in the scene near the beginning when Eli is given a room and the girl brings him something to eat, on the wall behind him is the original movie poster for A Boy and his dog. Also, one of the guys on the roof of a building is using Don Johnson's rifle. The director managed to find the original gun used in the movie.

Like Daz, I'd rate The Postman higher. I find it more re-watchable than Eli, though neither are particularly great. Didn't care for some of the CGI.
