Would you read a hotrod car novel?

Post by Madmaxing »

I believe the biggest segment of books are romance novels mostly purchased by women. I don't know of too many genres of novels that are dominated by men.

Having said that, do you read novels/fiction books? Would you read a story about a guy secretly building a unique hotrod that ends up risking his freedom? Would you read a story that has something to do with the Mad Max Interceptor that doesn't have to do with the Mad Max movies? Yeah, that last question is kinda loaded, I know.

I am working on writing a novel from a screenplay I have written. It involves the BoB Interceptor but removed from the Mad Max story, though there is a small reference only to the movie in the way of acknowledging that the movie had a car like this in it. Are guys interested in reading stories like these with plenty of action and excitement, and a little cleverness on the part of the main character?

Thanks,
Steve

I guess I will take this as a "no", or I should post this elsewhere.

i think the sci-fi genre is dominated by males (ie dorks).

i'd be interested in 'Car' novels, i think it has potential.

I've got 20 pages to go on the novel I talked about in this topic. Then I have to rewrite it a couple times and then polish it. I was busy making a film over the past year ("The Farm," a paranormal horror story based on a true story) and just recently got back to this project.

I have another car film screenplay that needs to be rewritten yet. I may end up shooting that one though, I don't know. It's got a story that's never been told, at least not in the hotrod genre.
