Re: Sick of it!
And Waterword wasn't a flop.
Sure it got mocked, but it did ok business in the US, and well overseas. I think it cleared 100 mil, and that 1995 dollars.
Who knows, maybe Miller is being cautious about returning to something that defined him. He wants to get it right. And having a big hit like Happy Feet, and Happy Feet 2 is better for MM4.
And the film business is changing at light speed. only 12 months ago 3D was a gimmick. Now everyone wants some of that Avatar cash and wants movies in 3D. That requires some changes.
And, in the end, it's just a movie.

Re: Sick of it!
And half the country is underwater.... hey who wouldve guessed??
The country has been in drought mode for 15yrs if not more, so how the hell can you predict when the drought is going to break?
There isnt much in the way of other locations at the moment as everything is green everywhere, unless they decide to move the whole thing to the simpson dessert.
And it was a truely an awful film

Er how much did it cost to make... as opposed to how much it cleared at the boxoffice. And Waterword wasn't a flop.

Re: Sick of it!
We just have to wait it out.
Far be it from me to wish a return to drought conditions upon this country when it does so much economic damage, shit's expensive yo, so we gotta take this in out stride, it's good it is happening, the timing is just off.
Also, I personally refuse to read anyone's rant that isn't paragraphed. Wall of text.

Regarding the weather...
The Australian Bureau of Meteorology won't commit to anything more than saying that "computer models surveyed by the Bureau suggest the current La Niña event will persist into at least the first quarter of 2011."
Another page from the BoM suggests that historically, La Niña weather events like the current one follow a "classic Autumn to Autumn pattern of evolution and decay". In other words, while the current event ramped up this past March, history has shown that it will likely ramp back down this coming March (or thereabouts) when the Pacific Ocean's temperatures in the tropics begin rising again. If so, there should be ample time (8 to 10 months) for the area to dry out before filming starts Feb 2012.

Re: Sick of it!
Bit naive to assume this has anything to do with Miller anyway. He's got no say when and of a movie goes ahead or not. That's the studio's business.
Seems pretty clear to me this probably has nothing to do with the weather as much as it does that Warners already have a huge summer planned for 2012 with Batman and Superman as the tentpoles. This sort of stuff happens all the time and naturally, the more financial return they can get from Miller in the meantime (hence 'Happy Feet 2') the more leeway he'll get when it comes to Fury Road.
Besides, if Batman wants Tom Hardy in the cast, you know they're going to get it ahead of Miller. Money talks and a new Max movie is more of a tentative risk than a new Batman movie. Sad but true.

Er no.. the fact thats its been raining and the place looks all nice and green as opposed to nuclear wasteland has nothing to do with it...Seems pretty clear to me this probably has nothing to do with the weather as much as it does that Warners already have a huge summer planned for 2012 with Batman and Superman as the tentpoles. Re: Sick of it!
Lets now spare some time thinking about the people suffering through this massive weather event, actually being physically affected by it.
Just today flash flooding swept through the Southern Queensland town of Tawoomba. http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2011 ... 109846.htm.
I can't embed YouTube vids here, so click on this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AEBIZ2KLsPA)
So shit is really starting to go off with the odd weather, Queensland will be gone soon at this rate.

Now , the hill WILL return to the hot dusty place we know of , look how long it took to film apocalypse now , and when it was finished it was spot on !
Having driven all over this big country , i say that the hill will be back to it's former self next summer .George has spent a lot of monies makin the vehicles and transporting them out there and paying good money to store them ,so if he wasnt going ahead with the film he would not be wasting all that money for nuthing . So your all just going to have to sit down and wait for the heat and dust to return because there's nuthin you can do about it .
Hava happy new year good things come to those who wait .
I survived the overnighter days .
