Thats fine man, more AMC diecast for me then. but I understand your anger,I understand ya pain..

Re: JOHNNY LIGHTNING MFP INTERCEPTOR...
Well I personally thinks its a great little diecast. I've got a few of them now and like someone else has said, we have slim pickins when it comes to any sort of MM diecasts, so I'll take what I can get. It's not like they're forcing us to spend hundreds of $$$.

might as well slap red yellow and blue paint on a Datsun 180B.

I'd probably still get it maybe...but most of our stores don't carry much JL diecast to begin with.

A Datsun..
Showed one of these to Mrs. X-Ray today & she insisted I add it to my collection.
Not quite the right car to paint in that scheme, but the real deal was every bit the performer the correct car was.. some of them being equipped with high compression 390's w/dual quads on a cross ram intake manifold..
HELL of a car that AMX.
Anyway, Yeah, it would have been far cooler to have a Falcon, but I'd guess that licensing plays a big part.
If JL isn't licensed to produce Falcons, they can't do it.
And with the toy in question NOT being a Falcon, that probably gets them around the copyright problems with the movie makers.

Adapting a comment a friend once made on certain modern Automotive.. decorative trends ("It's all about Self Mockery with these cars.. it's an in-joke") Certain Not-Replicas are intended as joking statements to the fact the owner is a Mad Max fan.
I've got a photo of my old P.O.S. Barracuda ("The Barely-Coulda") with a fake blower lashed together from an old arc-light casing a broken Cam pulley and an old air cleaner glued to the hood with some silicone sealant.

Do we think this is an attempt to make people think the car was really supercharged?
No we don't.. it's a just a goofy joke.
Point is, we shouldn't take what people do to real cars seriously let alone a $2 toy
If you take the "Wrong kind of car" thing to extremes, we could have tantrums because a (Max's) Yellow interceptor replica was not built on a real GT or a real GT Ex Police car!
"It's wrong 'cos the car was an ex-Wollengong police XBGT, not an ex-Victoria police XBGT!!!"

I still prefer the rear roofline on the Javelin, but the AMX is damned nice.Big Bopper Bart wrote:This aint no fucking Datsun fellers!
Spotted a Big Bad Blue Javelin with Breedlove & Donohue spoilers at one of the weekly unofficial car shows outside of Culver's last month. Wish I'd A. had time to stop and B. had my camera.
Anyway, even here in the states our AMC's are rare enough that a lot of people don't have a clue what they really are.
