The guy is totally Max Rockatansky. Father or son, no matter who is playing, he's a perfect "Mad Max". This vid totally convinced me. Previously, I've just seen PICS of the guy, not the real deal (footage).

So essential to the Fury Road incarnation in 2003, Mel would be a nothing now?? ... mmm... George Miller is a smart guy, so I think there's more than meets the eye here. The saddest thing is the fact that most of the fans buried Mel Gibson so easily for the Max part (no offense to anyone, just a thought)... Ok the show must go on, but... personally, to be sure about the cast, I'll wait the next Kennedy Miller press conference: it's weird there's no official word yet from Miller himself... Until that day, we should show our support to Mel for the part of Max.

Just a thought, if Fury Road is about to be set SHORTLY after MMBT, then isn't Mel a bit too old to reprise the same role? Seems like a legitimate choice for Miller to cast someone aged relatively close to Max in MMBT. And I'm sure Mel is up for some action because of Edge Of Darkness.

Remember that even fans are not sure exactly how old Max is in MMBT. He's supposed to be in his 40s even though he clearly looks younger in that movie. I reckon that regular viewers wouldn't give a rats ass about Max's age in MMBT anyway, but if Miller says 'we're setting Fury Road right after MMBT with Mel in his 60s' then a lightbulb or two would light up. I can smell theories of fallout aging Max 25 years in 2 winters, hah.

Anyhow, whatever the true reasons are, I'll just stick with this idea.

Biolumen,

I could understand it and accept it IF Gibson refused the part. But if Miller refused Gibson for the sake of it, this is getting ridiculous.

I just hope the next movie gets made before another natural disaster, actor hissy fit, or war causes a delay (like last time!) - I wouldn't mind seeing another MM movie before I go to that MFP in the sky... I ain't gettin' any younger!!! :!:

And now that I think about it, can't they just forget "Happy Feet 2" and make MM4 instead? I mean c'mon...!
