That's great feedback MFP1, I only just realised that you were from the International Hero & Fantasy Car Ranch. I just had a good look at www.madmaxcars.com and it looks like a fantastic site. The kit looks awesome and I didn't realise that Adrian Bennetts car has one of your kits. I saw it on a breakfast TV show here a couple of weeks ago and it looks great. He is looking to build a Mad Max museum at Silverton I believe. Now that's what you call a true fan!

In reply to MadMatt, yes Gordon does make kits and goes under the name of Mad Max Unlimited (see previous notes for website). He has also build a Batmobile Tumbler replica! A build-up pic of the tumbler can be seen in this forum however completed pics can be seen somewhere in www.chickslovethecar.com.

Thank you VERY much for the KUDOS on the site and our kit! Yes Adrians car is a very cool replica, and he is one of our very early clients. His car has been arcoss the globe. He bought it when it was in a container on the way to the MMC in the USA, and it got packed up almost as soon as it was on US soil and sent to the UK where he started to build it into its MM1 configuration (all before my time at MMC).... and we all know where it is now and what it looks like, another awesome transformation.... gotta REALLY respect what he is doing there with the museum and all, hope he get a job in MM4!!!!

That Tumbler that Grant & Gordon built is sure a awesome piece of work, if the photos do it any justice.

Found a pic of the original interceptor and it's rear flares which could explain why the front guards (Fender's for the American's out there!) are styled like they are. And yes I do have too much time on my hands :D

The rear flares always intrigued me why the finished so high up at the back, could it be they were just the best fitting ones at that stage or could it be the zoomies were originally meant to come out here but were positioned in front of the rear wheels for a better look.
hhhmmmmm.
If it's all the same to you....I'll drive that tanker!

I am not sure where you would get an idea like that (but I would be curious to know)..... I mean where would we be without our Australian friends and associates... pretty lost in the world of Aussie Falcons that is for sure. Our most recent kit that shiped to Oz was only a few months ago, & the fist one sent there was probably only the 4th or 6th we made. In any case we are world wide friendly, kits & Parts & Cars gone to Germany, Japan, UK, etc as well as all over the USA.
hmm, maybe i referenced the wrong website. i was interested in a kit, but the guys were only dealing with USA customers.

The ends of the flares are not mounted that high. That picture shown above is taken with the car leaning over, so its only an illusion they appear high. The flare ends about 2 inches higher then the rear quarter panel. Coupled with the fact the cars rear end is also raised up it adds to the effect.

You would not be able have the exhaust exit behind the rear tyres because the leaf springs would be in the way.
We are 100% snafu....

He (Gordon) has been a member of this board but he left it after some issues with newcomers. I don't know if he's still working on Black On Black replicas.
I could probably make it on my own, but I like you kids.

There was another USA based company that used to make bodykits. I dont know if they are still making them, I have heard that the guy who was doing it has moved on to other things, but I am not sure firsthand.

Mad Max Cars has always been a company with strong ties to Australia, as we started as the first USA based Falcon Importer long before we started doing builds. Like the website says: "we ship all over the world".

Note it does not look exactly like what we saw in the interview, however it looks like a work in progress. Obviously the zoomies, nosecone, blue steering wheel and lack of a rear spoiler are all wrong. But the fact it was built in south africa seems to fit the time line of when miller was going to film it there.
