day out in Silverton

Post by SandmanVan »

After the Easter Van Nationals in South Australia. the wife and i drove the Broken Hill route on the way home back to Sydney. when we got there we took a drive out to Silverton to see the area for myself. i know everybody knows the area. but still would like to share a few pics i took.i also went to drive out to the compound area. but theres a number you need to call a mine to get permission to enter. they are tearing up the area and they wont let you in anymore........ Jamie.

Beautiful! Someday I'll make it out there... someday... at least that's what I keep promising myself...

Thanks for the heads-up about calling first, too.

Wonderful, absolutely stunning! And I bet that is a 75km/h turn right there, and not a 75mph turn.

great pics Jamie...... I was there one year ago this month but it feels like yesterday. Did you try to call that number? We saw the same sign and called and they had not probs with us going to the filming site as long as we stayed clear of the minning area.

Killer rigs, the terrain still reminds me of our south-west bad lands.

If i was a rich man, id takle my lincoln over there, just to run your roads at speed. Beautiful landscape, it reminds me a lot of the cali desert i grew up in.
