Okay, so the short version goes, Miller and God of War game guru, are collaborating on a game to go with the movie produced conjointly. So while the film is ready to shoot any time, the game will probably take 1 to 2 years as it is just starting. The game and film are to share cast and voices. No Mel. But the film release will be delayed by this cause they want both to release at nearly the same time. So the guy saying "they are filming right away" his boss is a stunt guy, could be right, but the film won't get out till probably later 2009.

I just joined now, but have watched this site for 6 or 7 years.
I was 10 or 12 when I saw Road Warrior on VHS and remember thinking "the adults have been holding out on me, there are cool movies out there", then nothing else has matched it since.

okay i get that mel is too fucking lazy to star in mad max 4 (fuck harrison fords indian jones mels just being prissy.) but why for the love of god is there a game that has the name mad max in it and mels can't even be arsed to start his voice in it....i mean truely wtf is miller thinking period. i can get the movie not having mel but a game with his likeness and they will put in some noob. fucking hell no. that's just wrong...we finaly get a real mad max title written by miller himself and it won't have mel. god why is miller high latley cause it just doesn't add up..even if the movie has no mel in it surely the game can be allowed.

Okay, One more time.. Mel Gibson is an Actor, not an Ex-Cop driven berserk by the murder of his wife & Son.
He's not Max Rocatansky, Martin Riggs, Rick Jarmin or even Rocky the Rhode Island Red.

Any fool should realize that there's probably more to the "No Mel" situation than we're being told. (I.E. all of the involved factors in why Mel's Out)

And guess what?
It ain't our Business ----> Full Stop.

Miller is supposedly REALLY pleased with the Script he's got and is keen to get going on it.
He's got a lot of time and a lot of money already invested in the project.

So he should just throw all that in the toilet because his leading man is too old, too busy, too stuck up, too sore, too whatever to play the part??

See, this is where we all decide if we're Realistic or Idealistic.
Business or Art.

The reality is we must have a blend of Both or it all falls down.

ART Movies make no money and don't get seen.
BUSINESS movies.. well, You all know how happy YOU get with a Business movie.

In this case, it appears to me that Scrapping the project isn't an option, nor is having Mel involved.

That said, Recasting is quite risky, but it can work and has worked.. (Bond, Pitt, Ryan, Batman)

I See no obstructions on this Bridge, so for the life of me, I can't see why we don't just Get Over It.

I didn't read anywhere that its a 360 game, I would bet it will be multi platform. Still waiting to see Cory Barlogs 2nd interview where he discusses it further. Will check now actually.

I should sit down and make a full write-up. But bottom line: If Mel Gibson does not portray max, don't bother calling it Mad Max. The silly thing is Max, the Max I know and love, was already no where to be seen in Thunderdome. Max himself needs to make a comeback...

Pull a "Batman Begins"? Chances of a "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" or "Star Wars Episode 1, 2 and to some extent 3" are far more likely... But it's still a new Max movie, and it deserves a chance... Maybe... just maybe... the name "Fury Road" is and always was a good sign... I hear a faint rumble in the distance... that of V8 engines...

Just re-read my post and decided it can be taken as.. well, Snarky or even mean..

Was NOT meant that way!
Just trying to explain my POV & hoping to get others to.. well, give the thing a chance.

I'm just saying that Miller has more of Max's story to tell.
In a Perfect World, Gibson would be in it.

But the world isn't perfect and he won't be. (Unless something radically changes)

Either way, I'm not done Listening to the Storyteller.

(BTW, I agree that MM3BT is the third place movie of the trilogy and the departure from the style of the first two was a mistake, But it was Still max.. Older, Wiser, but still Max)

Still Cool, right? ;)

Still Cool, right?

Too be honest, I was first exposed as a kid to the mad max world via thunder-dome. I was ten years old. My mother took myself & my two cousins to see it cause we saw the trailer and begged her until she gave in. With all the action & kids & whatnot we were hooked. That was marketing at its best, I'm sure there were alot of 10 year olds & whatnot that were begging there parents to see it. That's probably why their were kids even in it. It wasn't until years later that I saw 1 & 2 and got more involved & fell in love with the story. As an adult, reading the books & whatnot I wish the story would have been better. But I'll always have fond memories of seeing it for the first time & being blown away as a kid.

Funny story, I remember after seeing the movie, my uncle had a working out area in my cousins basement. I remember taking down the punching bags & hooking up bungee cords. We hooked them to are belt loops & we could bounce around. We'd pillow fight and imitate the thunder-dome scene from the movie. It didn't work all that we'll, but what the heck we were 10. :D I remember them snapping off all the time & us getting bumps on are heads from them snapping down on are heads.
