Japan does seem to be a good place to get a master fairing, and we are exploring that possibility.
We have actually made contact now (through a Japanese speaking translator) at 2 companies in Japan who offer a "Goose" fairing (seemingly from the same manufacturer).
The cost is pretty dear, but we only need 1, so if needed that will be the resource. The main holdback right now is convincing them to ship to the USA........... However if needed I have begun arrangements to have a local make the purchace and shipping arrangements, if no donors with a correct mk1 turn up in the meanwhile.

Hi all, I see you all have been looking in the same places I've tried looking for that fairing. I pretty much gave up on that and have been looking for an old Dunstall or Rickman fairing, such as these:

Re: goose fairing search continues
Sorry if I have been keeping everyone waiting, you can always check in with us at MMC directly if you like. There hasent been to much concrete to report just yet, but we are still moving forward..........
Current news is:
Japan Faring [the bad news]:
The "Whitehouse" fairing is built for fiting on the Zepher (not KZ1000) and as such it is not proportinally accurate, and (even in their opinion through a Japanese translator) not suited to fit onto the KZ1000. It can be aquired in kit form and sent to the USA (for the appropriate cost).... and I have info from someone who has gone through the (semingly painful) process of fitting it to a KZ and it sounds like it is not worth the effort for the results achieved (inaccurate size to say the least for us "Movie Accurate" nuts), and the cost involved. The good [japan fairing] news is, if you want to build a sweet looking (and will fool the tourists) Zepher based replica, this is the way to go (the true fairing would be too big by all accounts).
The Oz Fairing:
This is the way to go. Several possibilities keep cropping up for our scouts there, its just a matter of time before someone either wants to have a free backup made for the loan of their fairing, or just wants to sell an MK1 outright. This is where I will post the news first when we have the "Master" in our hands. We have a solid waiting list of 15 people who want kits, includning bike build clients of our own, so be assured we will not drop this untill the correct fairing is available into the future.
For those who are wondering, it wont be needed but, We are still carving a prototype buck from scratch, just in case.
More SOON!

The cowl of the Japanese White House is very expensive.
However, the Japanese is satisfied with ZR1100.
Because, KZ1000 is old and easy to fail.

Re: goose fairing search continues
I have been in contact with a company that is looking to have the front upper and lower cowl plus tail piece available by this summer here in the USA.
They are in process of having it patented and it should be going through very soon. It is a goose for sure he said they are big movie fans.
Pictures will be available upon request within the next few weeks. They plan on having a fully functioning website taking orders and accepting credit cards sometime in spring.
He told me to have anyone interested to email him at: [email protected]
I am psyched....
