I used to play but these days it's just the odd noodle.

Strangely though last night was the work Xmas Party with a Future/Past theme so I went ... naturally ... as Max. Got dragged up on stage with the house band and the only song we all knew was Thirteen ... a Danziig song but as done by Johnny Cash. So Mad Max does Cash does Danzig .... scarey!

Hey here's an idea Mad Max the Musical ... I'll gve Sir Elton a call

The stable consists of

1966 Epiphone Crestwood Delux
2007 Epiphone Wiltshire reissue with a Bigsby
1969 Stratocaster
Some crazy Dutch semi accoustic bass that a mate's mother just found under his dead brother's bed ... brother topped himself in '78 ... punk has a lot to answer for ... and the poor mother only just got to the point where she could clear out his stuff ... sad!
1971 Maton accoustic
1966 Maton Arch top
1972 Fender Twin Amp

My last band folded in 1990 but my son ... the only remaining fan of the band ... set up a myspace page which has a bit of history and a few songs.

I've been playing for about 10years (on and off) and have just started clawhammer banjo (it's like learning to walk again  ).
I've really been suffering since the OLGA and Harmony Central and all the other free tab music sites have shut down.

There's now a site called Tab Universe or something.

Bart,
I'm a metalhead a well. I've seen most of the bands you listed in concert. I beat a guitar ( most wouldn't call it playing LOL) I've been playing on/off lately mostly off since 82 when I bought my Gibson Maurader. Nice guitar but heavy as hell. I traded it to a friend for a Fender precision bass and then sold that to another friend that wanted the bass. I bought a Aria Pro U60T gloss black with all gold hardware. It has a really agressive body shape that might remind someone of a B C Rich. The U60T model was only sold for a few years and I've never seen another not even on eBay. I told the guitar shop I wanted something very different from the standard Strat or Gibsons. He showed me it in a catalog and I said that's the one. I had actually wanred a Ibanez Iceman ,but they discontinued them a few months before nad he couldn't located any. So I chose the Aria. Got to say I've never been unhappy with it. It has a great feel and tone and when cranked through my Peavey Bandit 65 amp makes a most glorius noise .Never played anywhere outside of the basement ,but my band as we called ourselves LOL had fun . I miss those days although I'm sure the nieghbors don't.
