Marchhare... that uses hot water from the engine to help turn the propane into a gas (from a liquid in the tank) and then onto the mixer under the air cleaner.. the car is dual fuel (hence still having a carb) and the petrol would get turned off when being run on gas (lpg)

Yeah in that guise they are, but there are also 202's that can run in the 7 sec zone on the 1/4 in altered classes. I've also seen some making a genuine 500hp with a snail on the side. In the LJ Xu1 's they came factory with triple carbs etc as well.

oh my god what's happened?

The 202 is what they call a red motor right? since were talking about Holden donks,is the 253 worth a sh*t as far as performance capabilities?

Bart, there were both red and blue versions of the 202. As for the 253, I've seen several tricked out versions. But it seems the 308 gets more attention in performance applications.

The first 253 I had in my Torana went very well.. added a custom ground cam (was around .490 lift and 300 duration) a "Brocky" 4bbl intake, a Holley and set of extractors. For such a small displacement engine it ran very strong.

On the six's..there was a variety of grey, red, etc engines. Nothing like a hot grey motor in your FJ I suppose,lol.. (A mate of mine has a grey motor in a fork lift even!)

My other Torana has a 202 (blue) that is pretty fresh with a mild cam, 500 2bbl Holley and dual outlet manifold. Goes ok actually for what it is. But still going to slide in the worked/new 308 I have sitting on the stand before sending the car back to Oz. My red SS hatch is going to loose it's 308 and gain an LS1 after the white one (202) is sorted out.
