I just watched it. Did the end have some deep meaning that was above me. Something about that hippie chick? Or am I just looking for a reason to not say worst ending ever.

Since the movie was made in 71 I think to 'get' the movie they figured you'd need to be lit up like a Xmas rtree LOL,naww I think the movie was a true 'car flick' in its purest form. I am kicking myself in the ass to this day for selling my spec ed. dvd of the movie as its worth 500$ now.

The ending is a bit of a letdown but it's to add to the dream like atmosphere of the film
