Marstar only has the .308 versions. I'd like one in 7.62x39. The ability to take AK mags is most attractive to me. Just for s**ts and giggles, I wonder if the 75rd drum mags will fit? Sure would get some interesting glances at the range.

I did some ferreting....
They've had so many problems with the AK versions not feeding, that they gave up on them. An 'off the record' conversation (i.e i'm not sure of the voracity of the statement) is that the larger gap between feed ramp and magazine meant the shorter AK round was able to 'flip' out of the magazine/feed port (stove-piping). Being a .303 based the action, it doesn't seem to have a problem with the longer .308Win round.
It was added that "The debacle sorrounding the AK version and the lack of support shown to the customers in Canada/North America with such problems (early in the rifle's life) really tarnished the M10's repuation in these regions".
Furthermore, Australian law prohibits the sale of a firearm that's manufactured in this country. (Go figure what genius invented that one!). To get around this, AIA manufactures the parts locally and has them assembled in SE ASIA, incl VIETNAM then imports the completed rifle. The VIETNAM stigma put a lot of US customers off.
Still want one?...I can do a search for an AK ver. if you're keen.
P.S.
Ammo supply isn't really a 'problem'..it's just as expensive as ever ~$22AUS for a box of 20 150gn 30-06 Win Super-X, .357 Sig $170AUS for 50 rounds PMC...bloody hell they're an expensive thing to feed.
(i.e. reloading is very common)

I can see where the long action length in relation to feed position might be a problem. Sounds like I'll just have to pick up a cheap .308 No.4 at a show and convert it myself. Since I'm fixin to move to the mountains, it sounds like a good winter project. I'll probably move the mag forward to the breech end of the barrel, most likely building a custom mag well. There are several outfits making new stripped, chrome-lined AK barrels, so I'm thinking boring the threads from the reciever ring and if neccesary making a sleeve for the barrel shank(if need be) and press-fitting the barrel to the reciever. Adjust for headspace by varying press depth and drill and pin into place just like on an AK. The .308 bolt head should work with the 7.62x39 case head. I'll have more solid ideas when I get the Enfield apart. Come to think of it, I know a dealer over in Largo who parted out a bunch of the Indian .308 No.4's last year. Maybe I can score a barrelled action cheap. Damn,...another project. Why can't I just say "No"?
$170Aus for a box of 357Sig? Thats just crazy!! Thats about $143USD! I'm shocked. And I thought it was pricey for the brass for my Martini Henry. No wonder reloading is popular.
30mm GAU8A. Tankbuster. A truely awesome package. Let me raise the ante with the AC-130 Spectre gunship. 2 40mm Bofors, 2 20mm Vulcans, and a 105mm Howitzer. The fire control system can see through smoke, fog, well,...pretty much anything. Really gives meaning to "You can run but you can't hide."

"Azrael" at the USAF Museum in Dayton comes to mind...(Spooky Herc)...with the 2000lb "foliage clearing" bomb sitting on the back ramp. "Three seconds...clear football field."
I still like the A-10 load consisting of 1350 30mm (full load with half fuel) with the following underwing stores: 2 AIM-9's, 2 multi-munition pods, 6 AGM-65 Mavericks, 2 GBU 15's, and 2 MER's with 12 MK 82's.
Hobby Master has just come out with a sweet 1:72 series for about $50.oo each, and Franklin Mint has a cool 1:48 scale series for about $100.oo each.
A while ago, I read a series called The Wingman that ficticiously talked of putting 20 Vulcan M-61's in the port side of a C-5 Galaxy...checkmate?

My kind of woman there!!
"How was your day at work, Dear?"
"Not too bad. Got another 6 confirmed, 2 trucks, and 3 camels. Had some problems with the delinker and the over-running clutch so we called it quits for the day early."
When I find a woman who can cook, drive a 4-speed, shoot, clean game, and pack wheel bearings, I'm gonna marry her. Don't laugh, a buddy of mine found one who could do all that stuff and was even easy to look at. So I reckon there's hope for me.
(and by the way, the pic is a door mount on a UH-60)

( by the way, when a M134 is installed in the door of a UH-60, the configuration makes it an AH-60)
